Z is my DD....so I miss it badly, I love driving it.
Put it this way, I had to go to Home Depot for a chair rail for the babies room...obviously would be more space in my wifes 3 series but I made the chair rail fit in the Z cause damn it was a sunny day! :) This winter has been surprisingly mild though, I could have probably bought winter tires and drive it once a week but didn't want to put my baby through that. |

I guess my thoughts are that in the end you're driving it the same amount of time. I imagine most of you will get a new sports car in 5-6 year time frame anyways. I love the beauty of my car but in the end, so long as I don't drive it in wet conditions in the winter, I think it will last almost as long as a car that doesn't get driven at all :P It's mostly high ways and avenues where I live, so the salt gets pushed off fairly fast after a salting the the roads dry overnight just from all the traffic. GUess it depends on your unique situation.
Also I was just teasing, wasn't be serious >< I can respect you guys wanting to maintain beauty. |
Had errands to run so I of course I took the Z.
1. Went to bank to a. deposit the $10 in pennies my jackass friend gave me to settle a bet b. find out why my $500 check for winning my fantasy football league hadn't cleared yet 2. Went to set up appointment to get the windows tinted on the Z (35 sides 20 on back sounds good yes?) 3. drop off perscription None of these errands got accomplish :( Forgot the sack of pennies and perscriptions at the house, the bank had no record of the deposit and the window tinter went to lunch early and shop was closed. But I did get to drive the Z around all morning so it was still a good day. |
Just got in from my meeting, horrible experience today (traffic, getting lost, being late). Glad to be back in the office lol

also in the winter the pre-melted salt stones can penetrate the paint from kickup or even just driving past a salt-truck. ive had paint damage on past cars just driving around over fresh salt. no way around that and no way am i going to put my toy car through that. lol. Quote:

Morning kenchan!
Luckily the meeting was inconsequential to my business, just sort of like a "new products" meeting between company and producers. Should be fine, just dealing with crap throughout the business day. Same old **** different day, haha at least it's Friday. |

Even if roads are dry there is salt dust flying around. And that dust gets everywhere! I open the hood of my scion the other day and its all salt in there.... That's my main reason for keeping her off the roads in the winter.

Hey Nick, yeah have a good afternoon then!

G's looking good for a 8yr old car. i checked the frame, pinch rails (i washed that with my wheel brush each time) exhaust piping... couldn't find accelerated corrosion. i will put her on ramps and do any rustoleum touchup on the undercarriage when it gets warmer though. :) i think her wear is equivalent to a one year old car used daily. |
