I will say that I get harassed by 350Zs a lot... but I try to avoid generalizing the car and its drivers because it's a lot like blaming a deadly shooting on the gun. Did the gun kill the victim? No, the criminal that shot the gun did... And whether some young douchebag with enough money to buy a used sports car chooses to be a douche in a Z or a Mustang is really up to chance.

The fact is I encounter douchebag drivers on a daily basis, and sometimes they are in a Z, sometimes a Mustang, BMW, etc... but a douchebag is a douchebag and it doesn't matter what car they drive. If a douchebag Mustang driver traded his car in on a Z that's not going to change how he drives... however it might change how he is perceived by his own kind... just sayin'. ;)

Brother please don't get it twisted. I don't blame the hunk of metal on the road by any means. I do blame the driver inside. All I'm saying is, the car does tend to attract a certain type. I never came across a Z33 dbag but I have met some G35 dbags and I used to own one of those as well as G37. I really don't like the G37 crowd. They are way different from the G35 crowd. It doesn't mean I hate G37's. I went to the Z because I hadn't owned a 2 seater in a decade. I wanted one again. You feel more connected to the road. The Z crowd is a mixed bag too. Plenty of Aholes in our thing. But, I'm not talking about our thing now. We are talking about the outsiders. You know... "your people". Lol.:stirthepot: :happydance:

You have to admit there's always a bit of personal bias that plays a role in how you view certain drivers in certain cars... we're all guilty of that. ;)

My best friend drives a 2012 Mustang GT and he's one of the biggest douches on the road i know, but he drove like that when he was in a Pontiac Boneville too.

I will definitely agree the the behavior is the result of the driver and not the car being driven, but that being said it seems like the Mustang is a very popular car of choice for that type of driver.

The only time I have ever had Mustang envy was yesterday. I saw an early Shelby GT-500 and a '71 Mach 1 traveling down the highway. Both were beautiful cars.

That's the point of my post. I was out driving enjoying the day and my Z.

interstate. and he's going off blowing his horn reving up and doing fly bys
acting like king mustang. i realize you can't blame the car. but it just seems for me its always beat up mustangs or toothless hillbillies in ford f150's
with 22in rims wanting to jack with you.

"anyone ever heard,"how fast you had it up to" or whats on the speedo"

it would reach the 90 mph mark.

370Z- american and german car converts due to preliminary high praise reviews. so paper number monkeys and girls. I agree:ugh2:
350Z- jdm fanatics car is driven mostly by F&F wannabes, hence the highest single vehicle death rate of any car on the road. Some smaller percentage is "so jdm they sleep on the right side of the bed"
Camaro- people who still live in the 60's and transformer heads.
Mustang- mixed bag of enthusiasts and wannabe dbags.broadest cross-section of any car listed here-- everybody from high school girls, to track-every-weekend guys.
C5 Corvette- competitive on tracksright. there are more track-competitive guys running c5 vettes than there are gold-chain-wearing middle-aged men.
C6 Corvette- enthusiastssee above.
Buick LeSabre- Sunday drivers 7 days a weekd.
G35-jdm fanatics so jdm you sleep on the right side of the bed? Most G35 drivers have no clue what Just Dumb Motherfcukers even stands for, much less why people spend more on rims than they did on the car. The cast majority of drivers are middle-aged men who want an "I've arrived" car that didn't want to go German
G37- wannabes:ugh2:
Mercedes C Class- bad drivers
Mercedes E Class-worse drivers
Mercedes S Class- complete douche bags
Maxima SV Sport- wanted a G but didn't want to spend the extra cash. The type of drivers that could've bought an altima 2.5sl instead because they truly don't need the VQ power.please come to Zdayz so you can get schooled by the Maximas
F150- they think they own the road.wat
Ram- normal dudes.WAT
Silverado- bad driversWat
Each individual variant of the Porsche 911 (available for MY 2011)no word here?
Fisker Karma- eco nuts with small penises
Elise- not sure.notsureifsrs
Exige- track nuts
Lincoln Town Car- 80 year olds that are a danger on the road or nyc livery cabs.
1948 Tucker Sedan- future lowrider

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your American cars and I realized that they're not actually sports cars. Every sports car on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but your Mustangs do not. They move to an area and they multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way they can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Mustangs are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and Z's are the cure.

I haven't gotten any Mustang guys envy yet. I do get alot of Ferrari and Lambo guys envying my car though. Those guys are probably wondering why they spent sooo much money on a car when they could have just bought a 370Z for a tenth of the price with the same great looks and slightly less performance. 370Z FTW! Greatest car ever!

brucelidat 01-02-2012 01:45 PM

I get more normal cars riding my *** while cruising next to vettes, boss stangs and other performance cars on the road. Not even the ricers hassle me. It's always minivans or econoboxes in a rush or 3 series that do that to every car on the road, not to me in particular because I'm in a Z. I am in socal though where nice cars in general are a dime a dozen. Still don't see many 370s around though, which is nice.

Astrosfan 01-02-2012 01:52 PM

My cousin has a maxima SV. I drove em... I know. And I owned an altima SE which honestly, packs a little more punch at a perfect weight of 3200lbs flat. But that's another story. The answers on M4's list was mostly entertainment anyway. He made a list and I stereotyped mainly out of fun. Take a chill pill red. Lol

What does the mustang being a sports car or not have to do with the thread itself? And FYI. Muscle cars were derived for a specified type of sport driving. GT's are sports cars as well. They just aren't dedicated sports cars. Don't get the two confused. Non-dedicated doesn't necessarily mean "not real". And if you think I'm lying? Go around the track with a BOSS302 and see if you still want to make generic presumptions on GT capability.

IF we are going to generalize, though....

3 series drivers (particularly the lower models, 328s, etc.) are often major douches with something to prove (M3 drivers have a truly capable car and much less to prove)

next is guys in big trucks, especially raised ones

then we have any mid or full-sized sedan that has blacked out widows, is slammed, has dubs and lots of chrome

based off of stereotype (but not form experience because I don't see too many of them) would be Challengers/Chargers next

followed by Camaros (also based more on stereotypes and general car image)

followed by mustangs, though you experience it more with stangs because there are just so many of them around (ditto the stereotype/car image disclaimer)

riced up civics with fart cans are tied with the above mentioned american makes

then we have Prius drivers who like to drive slow and MPG friendly, but change lanes and merge as if they are driving the same speed as everyone else

so there are my GENERALIZATIONS if we are going there

I will have to say though, it feels like a good 30% (which is pretty freaking high in real world terms) of 3 series drivers piss me off

Audi is coming up fats though in popularity as the hip luxury car so maybe BMW will drop out of the king of douchery spot in the coming decade

/\ around these parts it's a two way tie. And I disagree about the M3 drivers, at least around here, almost all of them are douchebags that want everyone to know they can afford $$$ car and if their lives go to plan, the next step up will be a Porsche.

The real problem is so may folks nowadays are too concerned with the "status" that (insert car here) supposedly gives them, and not concerned enough wiht the joy and pleasure of owning said car. Too much trying to impress the Joneses and not enough taking your sports car to HPDEs and mountian cruises etc and enjoying life. (rant over).
