Speed or Looks
Im trying to figure out my parts list, I could get a nice body kit with wheels and tires; or I could make it out preform any car on the street. the problem is, i feel if I do go with looks, i have to go all out because otherwise it looks empty. Ive also grown up around speed, i spent the last few years riding around in my dads Aston Marten V8 vantage before he sold it, so im worried that when I do buy my car the power wont be enough to satisfy me

the car's fast enough for street imho unless you're some ricor street-racer type.
i did some vanity stuff on my Z to make her mine. :) |
"Go" before "show".

99% of people here scratching their heads.... wat is that thing? :icon17:

Bodykit will make you look the part. But you won't be the part. Engine mods turn you into a sleeper. Sleepers get more respect.
|
What is that?

lets try this, if you had 5 grand to spend (just a random number) would you spend it on performance parts or body parts; and justify
|
Hookers & blow
|
how did I know someone would say that
|
I changed the way my car looked before really doing any performance mods. Although nothing is ever enough... I need moar power!!
|
:wtf2:

Mine is a 2009, I hope I don't have to go thru that problem of the steering lock....

but seriously, get the car and drive it around for a few weeks. the car is fast enough for regular street driving. i get on it at least once a day when I hop on the freeway and even then i find myself running out of space to go any faster. |
looks versus speed are completely up to you. do you and look extra nice? (are you thinking amuse kit? IMO, that is by far the best kit and it also costs as much as 'making your car faster than anything out there' lie you said almost) or do you want to be undercover (car still already looks very nice anyway) and blow away unsuspecting people. I, personally, am in the sleeper camp if I was to drop that much money.

but given the nature of your question...do what everybody else said. drive the car. push it, and see if you're happy with the performance or not. if you are, get the exterior mods. if you aren't, get the performance mods. done. |
phelan, you should spend that 5K on better tires. :icon17:

Regarding exterior looks, the Nismo looks great.
Some minor mod's like intake & exhaust would work. And yes, you're probably spoiled for power after driving your Dad's V8 Vantage. Just remember, this is a V6 engine. |
As long as the exterior mod does not lead to a ricer, I will go for a nice body kit, drop and tires+wheels.
Unless you will track the Z, why would you need 400+ from traffic light to traffic light. Are you really that hungry to rush to a drive thru???? :icon18: |

CBE, intake, shift knob, air freshener shaped like a pine tree. Spend the other 2 grand on cigars, bourbon, golf clubs and a nice semiautomatic handgun (OK, the last part was just my Christmas list, copied and pasted from my letter to Santa).

Only $5K?!?!
I'd do what I have done so far. Tint, exhaust, springs, spacers, intake, fresh rubber. Also, get a tune and a rear camber kit. Serious power mods need more than $5K. Serious cosmetic mods require more than $5K. Sh!t, the wheels I want are $4500! Rice is all subjective. I like the Amuse kit, but I think it borders on rice. Of course, I have a GT-R start button in my car, so who am I to judge? That said, the car is fast enough in stock configuration to send you jail, so how much more power do you "need"? |
speed
