Rear badge removed and nubs ground off (MUCH harder than the front one, so now waiting on some touch paint before attaching the new badge)

Note for anyone else doing this, I strongly recommend having this done by someone who KNOWS what they are doing. All those small black scratches and the burnt paint are me f*cking it up. I gave up and called my nephew. He came over with his torch and 5 minutes later he was done. Luckily the new badge will cover 99% of the f*ck ups. Big slap upside my head!!!!

Also have had 3M AeroGard clear bra applied and #22 SolarGard HP Supreme window tint installed, but you can't see it well in the garage pics. Once I get a sunny day I'll make some posts here and to the all white thread.

Up soon is the rear fog light becoming brake light, a rear camera, and a new radio.

Cheers everyone!!!!

Thanks. I ordered them but the dealer was nice enough to throw them in for free.

Oh yes, well, once I mail it. Soon, before Christmas I hope.

I forget the price exactly, but I think the license plate frame cost me like $35 or $40 with shipping. So yes, this wasn't a cheap $1 key chain contest.

Sorry all, I've really been delinquent here on posting up my other mods. Some folks in another thread wanted to see pics of my garage door opener switch thing done, so to keep that thread on topic I just thought I'd post it here.

Here's the original link where I got the idea. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...tml#post974534

First, since I have a 3 car garage (2 doors, 1 double door and 1 single door), I needed a double door opener. So I bought a Liftmaster 375LM Remote Clicker Universal Remote Garage Door Opener Transmitter from Amazon for $17.93 (including shipping)

Then I took it apart.

Then I located the switches that actually do the door, and did some testing with jumper wire to see which 2 points I needed to cross with a switch.

Then I made 2 small wires, and did some delicate soldering.

To reinforce the solder I used hot melt glue all along the wires.

I also put hot melt on the actual buttons on the other side so they wouldn't push anymore.

Then I got out my dremel and did some cutting to make the wires fit in the original casing. I put it back together and put the original push button panel on the outside just to make it cleaner.

Then I hooked up the wires to the switches.

I got the sames switches from the original thread on here. I'll try to find that thread and link it in here later.

(Got it, here's the link) http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...tml#post218893

The switches pretty much drop in, but the outer right and left ones do need some slight sanding to the outside edges to make them more curved.

The last pic here shows the bottom side of the drink holder assembly with the switches all installed.

The center switch is just a dummy. I originally thought I would make this my DVD / parking brake override, but unlike Kenwoods, my JVC radio is "dumb" and just let me permanently ground that wire.

Then I put it all back inside the center console.

You can see in the 2nd picture that I just used Velcro to hold the transmitter up on the side of the console.

And the finished product. I think it came out okay, good enough for me, and better than the dead button covers. The pictures in day light here are a little more revealing than in real life.

Anyway, it works great. The only downside is that in a few years I'll have to open it up to change out the battery. I think at that time I might just make the lead wires longer and place the transmitter some where else where I can get at it easy to change the battery. Up under the dash or in the rear passenger side compartment would be good places. That should be fairly painless, but no point in doing it right now.

Anyway, hope this helps some do this cool mod.

I'll be back to post more pics of my other mods when I get time.

Cheers ---- Bonzo

Here's a simple one. While I had the center console off I put a few turns on the parking brake nut to make it work "sooner" and not be so loose.
