More importantly narrower tires are better in snow due to the fact that they don't float as much as a wider tire.

Right - wider tires are described as being more like a plow in the snow.. you don't want that.

I also got a square set (all the same size tires/wheels) so they can be rotated when it comes time.

This and the compound are the most important. Don't be a dumba$$ and get 305's to look cool in the snow.

**quick update we got close to a foot of snow. as much as 27 inches in some areas, this is what we are going through in the northeast....Snow Smacks Northeast; Power Could Be Out for Days - weather.com

I just got home from the beach. Branches are all around the house, some might have glanced off the roof. Driveway is blocked with huge branches and ice/snow on it. To make it worse, the Z is being blocked in by the snow and it is blocking the snowblower in the basement. I am screwed. It's freezing cold in the house too, 44 degrees right now
