The secret compartment is the one that you keep your porn magazine(s), or DVD(s) if you have those 7.5 DVD HU like 'someone'.

If thats what it is and its the one underneath the center console where you plug in your ipod I found that when I first got it. Is that the one?

Yeah is that the "secret compartment"?

I looked in the manual and all the storage listed I have found earlier. The one where the owners manual is the "rear parcel box", the console storage, the one underneath that if you remove the tray and the glove box. I have nav so I dont have the up front storage.

Am I still missing where it is? Or am I an idiot and this is a urban myth?

I bet nobody will notice this.

The clear plastic that covers the speedometer and the tachometer are coated with Anti-Reflection Coating.

I am amazed by this detailed thinking from Nissan!!!

I noticed this too! They have a purple tint in the sunlight but I can still see my gauges perfect

Good eyes, hahaa.

FYI, they only have those two covers coated, not the three on the center.

The drive-shaft is carbon fiber to save on weight, but the fly-wheel weighs over 30#. I found this...interesting.

For comparison:
Mustang 5.0: 21.5#
ZR1: 27#

What I intuit from this:

The VVEL isn't very smooth.

Skeeterbop 10-26-2011 10:07 PM

Not neccessarily the VVEL. The I3 and V6 are the least naturally balanced engine configurations you can get. An I6 or a V12 would be two of the most naturally balanced layouts you can easily find. Also flat engines will be naturally balanced as well. I would say the Vibration and harshness of the VQ37VHR is an inherent problem.

no, it is there due to the fact that the vq37 is very unbalanced.

Lol... hey newbie. You can do it to every nissan and infiniti over 21k. Lol. You can also roll them up by inserting the key in the door and holding it in the lock position.

What I didn't know about my Z is that it would attract Idiot Dodge Caliber drivers to ride my azz just cuz I'm driving a lil spirited on my own accord.
I also didn't know that an idiot 08 mustang gt driver would join in on the douchebaggery.
I didn't expect for my Z to make the mustang driver look like a fool. I did however, expect my Z to make the caliber driver look like a fool.

Good point, + the post above yours.

How does this impact long-term durability? I haven't really been looking, but do VQ37's have a rep for popping at a certain mileage or just randomly? I was under the impression that they were anvils, except for some '09's that used a bit of oil until Nissan fixed the issue.

I would imagine that your 370Z would stomp an '08 GT.

No rep for that at all....on the other hand, there is only one guy I know of past 60k.

I don't think Nissan would put out a motor that would be popping at 80k, but it probably depends how you treat it. You can't change the laws of physics, and the noise alone let's you know what is going on at high rpms. When you realize that is in spite of a boat anchor of a flywheel....I'd just sell it as the warranty runs up.

harry370z 10-27-2011 07:32 AM

I dont think the aussie cars have the auto window up / window down using the remote, either that or i can't get it to work :(

I found, that if you stand by the gas cap and press "unlock" on your FOB, the gas door pops open...

I would imagine the engineers figured this into the design. As long as it remains close to stock it shouldn't be an issue. And I would bet that as long as the rotating parts stay stock it still won't be an issue.
