I actually had shop I had clean up my last car talk me out it for that reason. Keep a nice layer of polish and wax on it, and keep it as clean as possible, things are always going to happen though. I just scraped the bottom of my bumper the other night and it drove me nuts, but not worth repainting the bmper over I guess.
