there's no denying the Power difference between the Z vs the Stang, in the "affordable Sports car" category. on paper from just a power stand point the Stang stands alone. with 400 plus stock HP vs the Z's 332 stock HP, to each of their own they are both very good Sports cars, for me it was a matter of i guess... feel, the look. how i felt when i sat in the car.. did i feel lik i was in a sports car? exc.... i test drove the 5.0 and the Z and the 5.0 power wise omg so sweet. lol. but from the overall sporty LOOK ..... i just felt the Z had it. i felt like the Z was just Calling to me, unlike when i sat in the Stang, although it had the power (boy did it ever lol) the Z was calling to me JUST a little more. and im very VERY happy with Ironhide. (yes i named my car after Optimus Primes right hand man, want to fight about it? haha :) )

:iagree:

The z is a true sports car. I tried sitting on a mustang gt that is and it feels like sitting on a performance sedan but as soon as i sat on the the Z there is no looking back. Plus the thing i don't like about stang is that they have the cheaper v6 model which makes the car so common , you can almost see it in every stop light while the 370z is exactly the opposite of that. I'm not driving an exotic car but it sure feels like it.

I was going to say you must regret getting the Shelby last year with the new beast that has emerged, but apparently you've traded up.

Those things are nuts! Have fun in it and be safe.

Yeah, I had to have the 13!

That's fine. You just have to get the car that speaks to you most.

I have a 5.0 and a S2000. I believe the 370Z bridges the gap between the two. It's not as powerful as the 5.0 and it's not as precise as the S2000. Instead it's somewhere in between.

You get more of a sports car feel than you do in a 5.0 and more grunt than you do with an S2000. It's a happy compromise.

Did you get extra track pack? I thought there were a few options to pick from, but is that available on the convertible? curious if you will get chassis flexing on the beast with that much HP and no roof when you light it up. If I were to get one, I would go for the school bus yellow Boss, or wait till 2014 when the all new one comes out with a honest independent rear suspension.

GL we won't miss you! jk

No track pack on the convertible. Have all the other options though. Chassis is tight-no squeaks , no issues there.

this is the exact way i feel as i walk towards the Z no matter where im at and despite the few 2.0 Turbo red Genesis guys that fly out of nowhere into (nearly) my bumper.... i get head nods, classic Z stories and big thumbs up

i even had this girl must've been 16-17, fling open the door to her (im guessing dads truck) and whip out her camera phone , run over to my car and proceed to snap pictures, all the while saying "OMG............OMG.....OMG.."

i dont care if you drive a Z or a pinto. when you get a reaction like that from someone, you get a boost. despite age. The Z is just awesome. just.... just.... awesome...:happydance:

It's amazing what Ford has done with the SRA. But the Z and Mustang are 2 different cars. The Z is more nimble on the twisty back roads, whereas the Stang is brute power for straight line acceleration.

Enjoy your new ride though! Congrats!

I with this dood, and my Z is a few days away... congrats on the new ride anyhow :)

DUDE!!!! That must've been the daughter of the girl that did it to me when I was driving my tricked out Pinto back in the 70's! I hope she was better looking than her Mom! :bowrofl:

Damn i don't know where you guys live but in San Gabriel Valley of california, no one even cares about my Z lol. I think down here its all about m3's A5's, 335i's, S5's and above.

I get occasional looks but thats it, its never like OMG OMG i need to take a damn picture type of reaction.

*There aren't very many either, I hardly see any 370z's but 350's are everywhere*

CrownR426 06-22-2012 08:50 PM

Congratulations!
Not a fan of those rims but that is a beautiful ride, even though I am not a domestics guy.
Still respect engineering!
Enjoy and visit often!

I was all set to get a second 370 for a daily driver, but after test driving the 5.0, I found it was way more comfy than the Z. If I had to choose one or the other, I would probably pick the Z, but fortunately, I can have both.

could've been ! haha, i was just waiting in line at Rita's waiting to order and...up pulls the truck, and WHAM! that door flew open so fast , im sure there was some sort of Whiplash. lol jump down and run, literally run, over to it and snap the photo's then get into line behind me.....its reactions like that, that are just not just rewarding but flat out hilarious. didnt expect that at all :P .... hey id take that anyday over power! lol

boomee 06-25-2012 02:14 AM

has anyone had the pleasure of being behind a boss 302 I think everyone would agree that that is definitly a dedicated track car in its own right( live rear axle and all it and aparently stock mustangs with track pack can hang with the M3 thats respectable) I am in a dilema with what I want to buy in about a year looking at used gt500s, STis, 370z, and c5 vettes and even maybe a 5.0s

PapoZalsa 06-25-2012 09:00 AM

Well with all these new cars in the market, Nissan needs to step up there game on the Z division.

Turbo please or more power...

LinPark 06-25-2012 09:47 AM

:iagree: Heck Yeah! I say we skip straight to the 560Z by lengthening the hood a bit and drop that Titan 5.6L V8 in there and supercharge it!

JvKintheUSA 06-25-2012 09:52 AM

Just put the GT-R engine in the Z and you're all set.
