It's all great.......but...

I love the new Zspeed clutch, CMAK and RJM pedal+Tilton MC. The engagement and pedal feel are amazing. The Excedy clutch disk is so superior to the OEM LUK garbage.

Default It's all great.......but...

I love the new Zspeed clutch, CMAK and RJM pedal+Tilton MC.

The engagement and pedal feel are amazing. The Excedy clutch disk is so superior to the OEM LUK garbage.

However.......the lightweight FW is driving me nuts!!!

I do not get the chatter everyone talks about. Its minimal at best. Slight chatter at idle, sounds like shaking a small rice bag.

The noise I do get a a horrendous roar/howl and thumping, firing pulses from the exhaust, at ALL revolutions. The only time it's quiet is in idle and neutral.

I know what you're goign to say: "you have an exhaust leak"

I thought so too. Right at the Left CAT or Mid pipe joints. Because thats where I hear it. On the Left ear.

I had installed new OEM gaskets. They didn't seem to be leaking but I went ahead and installed beafier composite/meatl gaskets. on ALL removed joints. No difference.

I then removed my AAM short tails and re-installed OEM Muffler. . Back-end is quiet now, but still thumping in my Left ear. Nothing changed. Not to mention the growl will always be there.

Is this lightweight Flywheel that problematic? Why do they even market and sell it? (except for track)

Is there another middleweight option thats lighter than stock but provides the sound dampening of the firing pulses and low weight howl?

I'm afraid to upgrade my exhaust, if it's just going to exasperate this problem!

It's that Annoying

Do I need to go back to Dual mass?

Sub-ed. Interested in this as well.

Side note question: I know the OEM CSC is prone to failure. Is the same for the OEM CMC?

Yes, I had both mine fail within ~200 miles, at around 11k miles, at 11 years old.

Which MC did you replace yours with?

The C-MC can be rebuilt. From what I hear it's the plastic parts that fail. So for $35 on a low mileage unit, it might be worth saving.

I've only seen the Tilton MC as an alternative. I think Willwood makes one for 350Z. Maybe someone can better answer for the latter option fir on 370.

Unfortunately had no choice at that time and was in a rush, so put a stock one :/ they assured me it's a new part according to the catalogue number so we'll see how long it lasts.

After tons of research the past few months, I'm starting to wonder if the OEM CMC itself is fine and needs replacing only if the CSC is bad? ZSpeed only sells the OEM CMC with their aftermarket package.

I'm jealous of you that you got the CSC replaced out lol. I'm trying to find the find time and another able body to help me or the other option of looking for a reputable shop to do it in my area.

Don't be jealous, just do it. Not hard. Hardest part is getting transmission out, only because it's labor intensive

The RJM pedal can be packaged with the Tilton MC. I think RJM will sell MC seperately or I'm sure you can do an internet search. I have the RJm Pedal kit as well.

Not sure if it works with OEM pedal, so something to ask Ryan (RJM)

I have to take some vacay time. The nature of my job is basically where I'm on call constantly (there are even times when I'm on Zoom calls at 3.00 AM local time due to a client being in another state [Hawaii]).

When you did yours, did you do it solo or have help?

95% I did myself. Called my brother to help pull transmission out and then back in. (only because my transmission jack was shady )

I have quickjack, and it's probably lower than what 9 ton jacks stands will get you for clearance. Then you need a flor jack that gets you that high.

Lift would make things easier.
