Are 370 worth more now than when you bought it?

Stop picking "excellent" condition. That's a good start to a more realistic value. |

Your car is only in excellent condition if it is 100% garaged (i.e. NEVER driven), or wrapped and driven only on sunny, rainless days and 500' back from any vehicles. I think my Z06 BARELY qualifies and I drive it maybe 2-3 times a month on my days off.
Also, what some internet site says is worth what you paid for it unless the owner of the site is offering you a check for that amount. |

It only worth as much as your attempt to get a sucker to buy your car at a high price...like a spoiled dumb rich kid who thought your car is a Porsche.

Ive also heard that used japanese car values are going up because of what happened in Japan with the recent disaster. Any truth to this?

you might get a little more than what kbb says. depending on your area..
i was at the dealership today and all they had on the lot was one used 350. salesmen said i could maybe get top dollar on a trade in now because at least in my area they are pretty rare right now. it doesn't matter anyway i'm holding out for the next major revamp. and then it's either the new Z or a corvette. |

A car is worth whatever someone else will pay. But generally no, a car always depreciates in value except for some very rare circumstances of rare or unique cars becoming highly desired by rich people with more money than sense, and the vehicle becomes a work of art rather than transportation.
If you got your car for a great price, odds are everyone else is too. Maybe you could flip your car for a few grand extra, but then you'd have no car, would you? And you'd have to buy another one, maybe even at a higher price. I have heard of people buying junkers and putting a lot of labor into fixing them up cheaply, and selling them up. |

actually i'm thinking about trading in my Z for a new Cayman. if i could sell privately for more than what i paid, i would be happy, but i doubt it. in fact, if i could get $30K i would be really happy.
