I like them. In fact, I am going to install something similar on my Z soon.
Do what makes you happy, and don't worry about what others may think. If you change your life to please strangers, what have you accomplished? Personally, I like rocker stripes on some cars, including 370Z's (love the euro-only 370Z GT and its stripes!)
