To Pass or Not To Pass
Situation:
Cop car, cruising 3-5 mph UNDER limit. Do you pass, or deal with it until he turns off?:ugh2: I passed one once and got popped for it. He stated that I was tailgating him so badly he couldn't see my headlights. I call BS. I think he was just out to give me a hard time. Granted, he didn't ticket me and that was cool and all, but still....... |
Pass

It depends on surrounding traffic. If traffic is heavy, I probably stay behind and deal. If there's plenty of open space, I pass, never going more than 10 above the limit and giving the blue boy plenty of space.

If he is going 3-5 under the limit here in Ga. he will not only be passed, someone will probably get under him and put him in the wall.:excited:

Stay behind him/her, it's not worth the BS if your pulled over!

Pass..... but wouldn't tailgate. That is what obviously got you pulled over. I try to keep a safe distance and be respectful of all drivers.....even the ones afraid to pass. I have never been pulled over doing this.
What irritates my about the local police here is they will sit 5mph under the speed limit in the FAST lane. It's like they are daring you to pass (which by the book is illegal to pass on the right). I still pass them! |

Pass but not over the speed limit. They do this on purpose to bait drivers or if they're eyeing someone up ahead.

He said the cop was going 3-5 under the speed limit and did not specify what lane the cop was in so to sit behind the cop and drive under the speed limit would be foolish,so to pass him doing the speed limit whats the problem there isn't one.:shakes head: |
