Special on EBay for Budget Minded!

Just needs a little work! Only 315 miles ( a few hard ones it looks like)!

eBay Motors: Nissan (item 320365133179 end time May-04-09 09:09:55 PDT)

HKYStormFront 04-28-2009 08:54 AM

somebody did a # on that one, wonder if it was the driver's fault or whether someone pulled out in front of it or something.

355890 04-28-2009 10:44 AM

315 miles..... get it going straight Lad.

alan93rsa 04-28-2009 11:00 AM

If it had been a 6 speed it might been worth turning into a track car. Rebuilding it for the street sounds like a waste of time. No warranty and a salvage title.

As a parts car it might make sense. Assuming the engine and transmission are good. You can get the nav, maybe a couple of wheels, passenger door, glass, rear hatch and various interior bits.

It will be interesting to see what it goes for and if it makes the min bid.

rench 04-28-2009 12:19 PM

Yeah, if it was a mt I would almost consider it for the drivetrain heheh (visions of 3.7l 510 dancing in my head...)
I kinda remember a forum member posting about wrecking a yellow one and gettin a blue one (iirc). This that car maybe?

Yep, sounds like it, as the salvage title is from Virginia.

AK370Z 04-28-2009 10:11 PM

This Z did belong to one of our member http://www.the370z.com/members/2theextreme.html. He drives a blue one now.

At least everyone was ok. Really, with all the parts that are still good, still probably pretty valuable.

CrownR426 04-28-2009 10:25 PM

Wow that must've been an awful crash...

Dreamin'Z 04-28-2009 10:28 PM

It makes me sad to see that car looking like that....I think I teared up a little when I saw those pictures

ZforMe 04-28-2009 10:30 PM

I'll take the seats for my base model.

2theextreme 04-28-2009 10:48 PM

Just to confirm....100% that's the one I had. The VIN # matches perfectly and the dead giveaway was the miles. 315....I still remember seeing that number when I went back in the car to recover what I could.

And yep, it was still running when I left the accident scene....I thought it was and now I can confirm that, too.

.......do I dare buy it back? HAHAHAHA!!

AK370Z 04-28-2009 10:51 PM

I went ahead and added the VIN to our "VIN beware" thread. Thanks for posting this OP.

I contacted the seller....I'm requesting better photos and more photos. I just have to....I never saw the car until now. Once I have them I'll upload them here. Thanks to everyone who found this! :tiphat:

ZforMe 04-28-2009 11:20 PM

Is there a write on the forum of what happened?

Sigh...I keep finding myself going back to that ebay auction of my old Yellow car. Based on the photos on ebay (I included them here) can someone tell me what damage the photos are showing? Not sure why I'm curious....but I am.

soo what happened...??

WooZ 05-03-2009 12:43 AM

Read your story previously, and now that I have seen some actual pics, all I can say is wow glad you're ok.

SoCal 370Z 05-03-2009 01:02 AM

This is all front clip damage. All parts holding fluids including the engine radiation and water windshield wiper sprayer reservoir have been removed (mostly likely as they were damaged beyond any repair) front fascia, driver's side air filter, both headlights. The last picture is of the deformed driver's side front suspension.

2theextreme 05-03-2009 01:09 AM

Thanks, SoCal....if the car is, in fact, repairable, how much would someone be looking at spending just to get the car back on the road and drivable?

You would need to do a complete and thorough estimate of the replacement parts, and look to see whether they have all the specs for a frame straightener. You'd have to place in on a frame straightener to see how bad the chassis is tweaked before moving forward on this project.

anything is reparable with the right amount of money
but it doesnt mean its reparable to a safety standpoint

also the fact the car is new to the market i doubt youll find used parts for replacement
you have to buy every thing new which will cost most likely an arm and a leg

im guesstimating base on the pictures i would say parts and labor easy 15k-20k(especilly with suspension damage and u find used parts)

your better off buying a new Z...which you did lol

eXo5 05-03-2009 11:58 AM

That car was rofl pwned. I didnt know you could sell a totaled vehicle like that.

Hello Mr. Parts Counter Person. I have this gas cap from a 370Z. How much will the parts be to get it back on the road and running?

I think you can sell just about anything on eBay....well, exept for other humans. Then again, I think that's been tried, too!

ZYUL8R 05-03-2009 12:40 PM

I think that Z is now a fresh supply of used parts...at least thats all i would think it is good for now.

veightkiller 05-03-2009 12:40 PM

i wonder how much it would cost to rebeuild that thing. it's cheap though 5g's.http://animepisodes.info/images/2aaa...dc081c6541.jpg

I wonder if one could buy it and then make a profit on parting the thing out?

frost 05-03-2009 01:18 PM

^ i don't think the idea of them selling is that someone will buy it and put it back together, I think the idea is that all the parts could be sold for profit. Tough part is, the car hasn't been around long enough for things to be breaking yet that the warranty wont cover, so it might be a little tough to unload everything right now.

2theextreme 05-04-2009 01:33 PM

Well, the auction ended today @ $8,550. However, the reserve was not met so now it depends on the seller if he's willing to let it go for that price. The car may just show back up on eBay again.
