Just tell the truth to your insurance. Your out the deductible but the car will get repaired. As for your friend, he should be helping out. But, what the Hell

Best thing would be to have your roommate pay for the damages out of pocket. Chances are, he will have to reimburse your insurance company anyway.

What typically happens when someone gets hit by someone without insurance is your insurance will pay (assuming you have full coverage) but you will pay your deductable. Your insurance company will then go after the uninsured driver to recoupe thier loss. If he doesn't pay they may go to the state and possibly have his drivers license revoked. It just depends on the state. It is something that will follow him around until he settles up with the insurance company. Again, I'm sure this varies by state.

For sure check with your insurance company and tell the truth about what happened. Ask about what will happen to your roommate if they pay your claim. Then you can decide on how to proceed.

Best of luck.
