Should I upgrade to a nismo?

Ive only my Z for about 3 months, and am wondering what your suggestions would be if i were to trade in my Z for the nismo, i mean itd only 30HP more and a body kit...is it worth the $10,000+. I used the search bar, and id rather get some regular Z and nismo Z owners opinions on reliability and power difference.

short and sweet. lol but why in your opinion. ?

It's a waste of money for a minimal change. You'd be eating a large amount of depreciation for essentially a body kit.

If you are willing to spend the extra 10k and loose money of ur current Z... I suggest you keep the car you already bought and install a turbo kit. I'm sure you'll be excite...yup!

Then I suggest you buy bolt-on mods, a nice lip kit, rims and coil overs... you will have more hp than a nismo and better handling too.

JrumMusic 07-01-2011 09:49 PM

Theirs an add on EBAY but its $12.5k FOR A GREDDY TWIN TURBO installed in TAMPA, im in FLA. but will a TT on a automatic work? And its voiding my warranty.

JrumMusic 07-01-2011 09:51 PM

wow theres* Ad* smh

the 370 nismo isn't essentially a differnet car like the 350 nismo. that car was stitch welded had a upgraded motor. Most of the hp difference is the exhaust and possibly a different tune on the ecu for the 370. I do believe it has a different strut tower brace. But you can do a lot and keep the warrentee in tact with the 10K you would spend on a Nismo, or get slower car while paying on the depressation from the old car.

nogoodname 07-01-2011 09:54 PM

for sure it will void the warranty of the engine! and never buy such parts from ebay lol.

you can install TT with auto but becareful..you may blow the transmission.....I'd wait until someone develops a valvebody upgrade for the trans..no one has yet though.

happytheman 07-01-2011 10:01 PM

Some have said the AT will carry 450 WHP but I dont believe that's been put to the test.

Yup, as said before..I wouldn't spend the extra $ on a Nismo.. Just go with bolt on mods and you'll have the same power AND have a unique ride without voiding your warranty. Hell, you're already partway there with that nice ARK exhaust you purchased.

Z1 did a GTM TT on an automatic. It was a beast. Like everyone said, use the extra money on some mods or save it. There are a few differences between our car and the nismo but not worth 10K.

:iagree:

If can handle a $10k lost, you can handle $10k worth of mods.... thems a lot of top notch performance mods if you choose wisely.

not to mention you get to keep the nicer interior.
