Flashy sports cars are male 'short-term mating signal'
Its not the sports car that gives men the wrong impression to women, it's the person behind the wheel that acts like a douchebag in a sports car that gives us bad rap.

funny thing is that chicks like cute cars more than sports cars
|
People love drawing conclusions based on a person's choice of car, especially when it is a man who chooses a sports car.
Here's an interesting new theory that may blow your mind: people buy sports cars because they like to drive sports cars. Shocking. |

If I wanted to impress women, I'd have bought some fashion accessory like a Smart Fortwo or a Prius. Or even something like the base Merc C Class where you're just paying for the badge. I bought something to go round corners and in a straight line quickly and sound/look fun doing it. It's my toy. It's for my enjoyment. |
I don't need a car to get laid. And in my experience, big diesel trucks work better for that. The Z gets alot of attention from dudes, the truck got tons of attention from skanky girls

I can see how that article has some merit (maybe not entirely true). If you think about it, whether you indend to look flashy or you just do because you drive a sports car, a woman will have the same impression. In a woman's mind, sports car = trying to be flashy = probably a player = probably a good lay but not bf material. Can't say I agree with that reasoning, but from experience, this is how the female mind works.
|
I kind of buy this car for that reason. I had an S2000 right before I had my Z so girls always comment on why I always get these tiny cars. I straight out tell them that I dont want kids or a wife and sends that kind of signal out, plus I really like the Z.
|
What if I buy a small window-less cube van as my daily driver? Practical, affordable and surprisingly fuel efficient. It's perfect for starting up my candy-making business, showing that I'm a self-starter full of synergy, well on my way to success. Would that make me a good choice for a long term relationship?
|
Girls care about the car you drive.
Women couldn't care less, until you're in a committed relationship and other needs get in the way. |
Also, depending on your tastes, some other cars may be better than others.

I lol at some of the thread titles on this forum.

I thought girls that got picked up by guys driving down the street were hookers and would go with anyone with cash.
Really. How does a guy pick up a girl in a club with a car shows her his key ring? You have to have game in the first place inorder for her to see your car. |

article states that while men spend $$ to attract women, women don't spend money to attact men.
No sh!t, they have a pu$$y, that's all they need to get a man's attention. Men need to show a potential mate that they have something to offer. the quickest way to do that in this day and age is to show that you have $$$ and therefore have something to offer a mate. In caveman days, a good successful hunter would be equivalent. A bit OT, but still interesting: Studies have shown women prefer to have sex/date men with high T levels, but prefer to marry men w/lower T levels. Makes sense since men with higher T levels are most likely to stray while men with lower T levels are more likely to be domesticated and stick around for child rearing. Studies also show once men get married their T levels drop and once they get divorced, they go up again. Actually the man's T levels go up about a year before they get divorced... |

I like how all these studies sort of imply that their reason for existence is on the verge of reversing millions of years of human evolution.

i bought the 370 for me............
but it does draw attention and stares....... don't you just hate that:bowrofl: |
So, perhaps a lot of people buy their cars for everyone else (to impress, draw attention, etc), so they assume others do too. Not me. And the last thing I care about is what anybody else thinks (except my wife and kids). Once you achieve that, you are truly free.

If i wanted to get laid due to my car I would have chosen one with a back seat... Nuf Said.. :ughdance:
|
This thread makes me LOL! I've already bagged my woman, and don't care what others think about my ride! Granted, I just love the look of the Z to the level that I still find myself looking back at it as I walk into work...but the car is FOR me, not others.
|
I'm married so I couldn't care less what all those bitches out there think.
|
My wife says the Z is a phallic symbol as is my electric guitar. I'm compensating I guess. LOL.

If you can't get laid in the front seat of the Z your doing it wrong.
|
My wife says my Z is cute. I think so too. :p
