People love drawing conclusions based on a person's choice of car, especially when it is a man who chooses a sports car.

If I wanted to impress women, I'd have bought some fashion accessory like a Smart Fortwo or a Prius. Or even something like the base Merc C Class where you're just paying for the badge.

I bought something to go round corners and in a straight line quickly and sound/look fun doing it. It's my toy. It's for my enjoyment.

I don't need a car to get laid. And in my experience, big diesel trucks work better for that. The Z gets alot of attention from dudes, the truck got tons of attention from skanky girls

I can see how that article has some merit (maybe not entirely true). If you think about it, whether you indend to look flashy or you just do because you drive a sports car, a woman will have the same impression. In a woman's mind, sports car = trying to be flashy = probably a player = probably a good lay but not bf material. Can't say I agree with that reasoning, but from experience, this is how the female mind works.

I kind of buy this car for that reason. I had an S2000 right before I had my Z so girls always comment on why I always get these tiny cars. I straight out tell them that I dont want kids or a wife and sends that kind of signal out, plus I really like the Z.

What if I buy a small window-less cube van as my daily driver? Practical, affordable and surprisingly fuel efficient. It's perfect for starting up my candy-making business, showing that I'm a self-starter full of synergy, well on my way to success. Would that make me a good choice for a long term relationship?

Girls care about the car you drive.

Women couldn't care less, until you're in a committed relationship and other needs get in the way.

Also, depending on your tastes, some other cars may be better than others.

Men need to show a potential mate that they have something to offer. the quickest way to do that in this day and age is to show that you have $$$ and therefore have something to offer a mate. In caveman days, a good successful hunter would be equivalent.

A bit OT, but still interesting:

Studies have shown women prefer to have sex/date men with high T levels, but prefer to marry men w/lower T levels. Makes sense since men with higher T levels are most likely to stray while men with lower T levels are more likely to be domesticated and stick around for child rearing.

Studies also show once men get married their T levels drop and once they get divorced, they go up again. Actually the man's T levels go up about a year before they get divorced...

Prostitution is legal in the states, just depends on the currency you use. If you're using dollars, you're in trouble. If you first convert those dollars into food and booze, video and audio entertainment, or maybe a weekend listening to emotional baggage (remember, time is money), then you may have just spent money on sex. :tiphat:

So, perhaps a lot of people buy their cars for everyone else (to impress, draw attention, etc), so they assume others do too. Not me. And the last thing I care about is what anybody else thinks (except my wife and kids). Once you achieve that, you are truly free.

The pitfall for women here is that it's easy to appear much wealthier than you actually are. You can own a Z or even more expensive car (and lots of other bling), and be well into debt (negative net worth) and have no real potential for financial growth via professional prospects, especially in the last 10 years with the liberalization of credit. I have known girlies who were impressed by Bubba driving the hot Stang, and now they live with Bubba and Bubbles in the trailer park with the hot Stang, and always will. The nerd who had nothing, did not show off, worked Friday nights washing dishes, never impressed the girls nor had a girlfriend until age 21, went and got an MBA at Stanford and now is a CEO and worth $20 million over a career.

Very true. Smart chickas will quickly figure out your true value, dumb ones will fall for the superficial bling. there's more of the latter out there than the former though.

This thread makes me LOL! I've already bagged my woman, and don't care what others think about my ride! Granted, I just love the look of the Z to the level that I still find myself looking back at it as I walk into work...but the car is FOR me, not others. :tup:

this is very dependent on location... In AZ a slick car attracts the skanky hoes and dudes while here in NoDak a big truck gets you the beotchs
