*STOLEN* Rays Nismo 370z Wheels - Philadelphia Area *STOLEN*
Hey guys,
This isn't a fun post by any means. Just wanted it to be known that my father's Red Nismo 370z had its wheels snatched by somebody while sitting outside the Nissan dealership in Philadelphia. The wheels had just been repaired along with some quarter panel work only to be stolen. The car was being worked on at Chapman Nissan near the Navy Yard. If you guys in the Philadelphia area could keep an eye out for a set of Rays 370z wheels that may or may not be claimed to just have had curb rash repair, I would appreciate any help. Please email me at jacobawahoo@gmail.com if you have any leads. I appreciate your care and concern more than you know. Thanks guys! Here are the photos of how the car was found in the morning: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_v...dent%20005.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_v...dent%20003.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_v...dent%20004.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_v...dent%20007.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_v...dent%20010.jpg These are what the rims look like: http://www.370z.com/Portals/0/Magazi...370Z-wheel.gif |
That is not cool. I hope you find the guys before the cops do. :shakes head:
|
Oh man, that truly sucks. Hopefully they have some surveillance equipment so that you can check out video to get some evidence. :(

:ohsnap1:

Wow! I hate seeing stuff like this happen. Like watching another guy get kicked in the nut. I feel your pain. I hope you find the d-bags that did this.

sigh. that sucks man. get these wheel locks..hopefully they'll be deterred enough to move on:
Amazon.com: Gorilla Automotive 63621 Standard Mag Guard Locks (12mm x 1.25 Thread Size) - Pack of 4: Automotive i really HATE wheel locks, but the stock wheels on these cars are just so flashy im running both the stock nissan (mcguard) locks as well as these gorilla locks since they have a spinning collar. |
This makes me very upset to see
|
I agree with all who said I hope you find them before the cops do. Things like this, along with the various terrible parkers threads, make me want to put my Z in a vault and sit outside it with a shotgun
|
Isn't that supposed to be the City of Brotherly Love?
|
Man that is so messed up. Bunch crackheads looking for there next hit right there.
That completely blows, and I hope you get to beat the snot out of em!:ugh2: Keep us updated. |
What dealership was that?
|
Wow. That really pisses me off. Not only do they take the wheels, but they drop the fuckin car to the ground. I think the death penalty is in order.
|
The guy not only stole your wheels,he even damage your side skirt.!
|
If anything good will come of this? is the Insurance will cover the damages.
I'm for the thief to be caught and his hands cutoff!! |
better check craigslist. WTF it was on the dealership parking lot. they got balls. Shouldnt the dealership be responsible because it was at the lot?
|
I know it's your dad's car and all, but the first thing I did when I bought a car is get a Car Alarm w/ tilt & shock sensors and battery backup. Afterwards, then get the wheel locks just to give them extra 2 minutes of the alarm tripping.
I'm currently working with my friend who's a electrical engineer to find good and reliable places around the car to put mini Piezo sirens around the wheel wells. That way, even if they tried to go through the wheel guards, they will be getting the biggest headache of their life. This is what I'm working with at the moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Duwak...eature=related I tested it on the Z's wheel well...holy crap, high frequency & echoes. Only 10 seconds and I already needing Tylenol for 2 days. |
Dj- why are u trying to steal ur own wheels? Werd. ;)

Wow, that is ballsy and upsetting.
Definitely check Craigslist, another member found their stolen wheels that way. |
The dealership was the Chapman dealership down by the Navy Yard, however, my dad mentioned that they take their body work jobs to the Ford dealership? I'll confirm whether it was at the Ford or Nissan dealership, but I find it bizarre that they would leave a freshly painted quarter car outside the night they get it finished...
I smell an inside job. This is why I should appreciate living in a small town. |
The dealership insurance should take care of it. And yes inside job is what I was thinking too.
|
Sucks to hear bro. Hope you get new wheels soon. Shouldn't be a problem at all w/ insurance.
I wish US government would allow this to be legalized but i am sure it wont. Currently this anti-theft system is legal in South Africa YouTube - ‪South African Car Flamethrower‬‏ |
really a shame, I hate thieves. We all work so hard to nice things only to have some loser come and take it and damage the car to boot. Nice. Gotta love people.

Some other things your dad could do (or you although it looks like you live in a different area) would be to check cardomain for local cars displaying "new rims!" and also to stop by the dealership a couple times and just cruise the employee lot. If it is an inside job, you never know how dumb the thief might be. And for the cardomain, one of my friends had his rims stolen a few years back and saw someone showing pictures of their "new" wheels shortly thereafter.

Damn Z's are getting molested left and right.
Sorry to hear what happened. Hope your Z gets back to perfect condition. Good Luck with everything. |
Another bad week for Zs.
|
I lived in Philadelphia for seven years and had three entire cars stolen and my car broken into over 20 times. It got so bad that I eventually rigged handles with razor blades. They stole my battery almost 20 times and even took my alternator one time. That city is full of crooks.

I hope this doesn't get too out of hand... |
F$%King P&@@ies, this gets me worked up I hope you find them first and beat the F&^k out of them.
|
Wouldn't be surprise that this happened. I assume the dealership you're talking about is the one at the airport auto mall on Essington Ave. The area is huge and not well guarded, very easy for someone to walk up, take their time and steal the wheels. Got my car from the same dealership, service techs there seems shady and even asked me once if I wanted to race for pinks. I'll keep an eye out for your dad's wheels.

agree with Zima i'm going with it was an inside job...........
|
the dealership btw should cover everything. Make sur ethey dont try to pressure your dad into having your own insurance cover it.
|
Damn.. wish I saw this thread before I bought my car from this Stealership they are definitely a bunch of asshats. I've had to go back to them twice now about misc. Bs
