I need some counseling...
So...a little over a week ago I took my car to the local Nissan service department because the car was stumbling when it tried to start (after it sits for awhile). They look at everything and say "we can't find any issues, a level four tech looked over everything and the car is fine"
2 days later my Service Engine Soon light comes on and the car is getting worse by the day. I call them and tell them my issues and they say bring it back in. I start the car to take it to them and this time it's REAL bad. The RPM's barely make it above .5 and it is choking out horribly..BARELY running and shaking like crazy. I shift to reverse and the RPM's smooth out and all feels OK. I start driving it and as I accelerate it wants to stall out and feels like it "mis-fires". However, it has no problem once I get it up to about 60 mph and it runs fine. I get at a stop light and it starts to stumble again and shake  So now my baby is sitting in the express service bay while I sit and wait hours to hear a diagnostic. Why do I have the feeling I am going to be getting bad news from Nissan and also have them drain my wallett. The reason I am so nervous is because of all the bad reviews I have read with people taking their cars to the stealership. 09' Coupe with 10k miles on it...:shakes head: |
Are you still under warranty? Don't worry too much. Although it could be a number of things...MAF sensor, 02 sensor, vacuum leak and etc. I'm sure it's gonna end up by being something simple.

Is it modded?!

(This is why I am FIRMLY in the "anti-mod-- buy one fast enough for you stock" crowd.) |

Your still under full warranty. I wish you the best.

Drain you wallet - not unless you let them. There's this neat thing called a "manufacturer's warranty", and ...
Some of you guys and your worrying just cracks me up, although you certainly have my sympathy for the hassle and inconvenience of having a problem like this! Now, if you bought your Z used, then you're gonna be out some bucks - and there's no way to know how much the repair should be until you know what's wrong. Best wishes either way! |
Update on what it was?

they haven't had a chance to look at it yet because they have been "slammed".
The car was bought used with 7,000 miles on it...but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be under warranty? The warranty transferred. |
Seriously? Wow, your stealership is taking their own sweet time. Are you sitting there waiting for the repair?

and STILL have not heard. |
Damn dude. All the best, it should be covered under the warranty anyway. I feel for you. Let us know how it goes.
