370Z highway mileage?
What sort of mileage are you guys seeing on the highway?
|
at the right speed and gear with no traffic i can hold it somewhere between 30-35 mpg
|
If I set it on cruise and reset the MPGometer...
60 MPH = 38 MPG 70 MPH = 32 MPG I was surprised it was this high, but I've tested it multiple times and get similar results each time. |

from the day i picked it up new till now which is 63000 i get 22.1. thats highway, some city mileage. on a good day i can squeeze out about 410-420 miles per tank but thats rare since its fun to go fast and that makes gas go quick.
|
I averaged 30.5 mpg from Chicago to Omaha (right around 450 miles) in the Z once, doing around 75 most of the way.
|
(Which I was quite impressed with!!)

Hmmmmm i only see 24ish around 75..... Only has 3500 miles on it tho
|
Several trips to Dallas / San Antonio / Austin from Houston and average 30.2 MPH @ 75+ MPH.

if you can stay off the throttle you'll get better gas mileage... but its just too fun
|
mid 30s with normal driving
|
mid 30's averaging 60to70....
overall average is much lower than i care to guess |
geez you guys must be driving some freak cars. best i can get is 26mpg when im cruising on the highway @60mph. however, i almost always cruise around 75mph...

Official Nissan specs are 18/26 mpg. I call BS on 30+ claims - you'd think Nissan would boast with those figures if the car could pull them off. |
34 MPG in the perfect world of a Turnpike trip with no air conditioning and cruise control. 20.6 MPG, consistently, in the real world of mostly sensible suburban driving with a little fun, every now and then. No complaints. More than fair for a beautiful, fast sports car.

seriously though...with mixed city driving i get 19. if i do ALOT of highway ill see something in the 22-25mpg range. ive never even seen the instantaneous gauge sit at 30mpg+ when cruising |

28-30 can be achieved on a warm sunny day and your traveling long distance on a flat road with out many hills. Short 30 minute trip not so flat roads all highway your gonna see 24-25. I my self have achieved 29mpg highway with ease on a nice road mostly flat and cruise control at 65. Reality is though expect to get 24-25 because its the most consistent baseline I get in my driving. Things that I think affect your MPG Heat level affects tire PSI then affects MPG. Hills on the road affect MPG The highway your traveling is uphill verses down hill. Rain, non rain. |

how is everyone calculating the mileage? using the in car MPGometer? or trip meter/gallons at fill up?
|
Did a long road trip to the Virginia mountains last year, I got about 26 to 27mpg average on the highway. This at an average (and relatively constant) speed in the high 70's and measured over a full tank. The scangauge indicated an instant 35+ mpg every now and then, but that was at (much) lower speeds and perfectly flat or downhill bits... I really wonder how people get 30+ mpg average on a full tank. 45mph constant on a perfectly flat road and tailwind maybe?

On a side note, does anyone know why our cars get so many rock chips??? |

dont draft if you dont want rock chips. even with my full clear bra i stay far, far away from any big cars |
I get between 30 to 32 MPG when I am not driving fast.

I do not think I get much better than 25 MPG, but I can't seem to keep it at the limit, so I do not know the real potential.
|
I love how much mileage we get out of our Z's. Hell, I get better mileage than my damn rental, a Chevy Cobalt.... that is shame.... SMH.

Also, the computer, as many have pointed out, is only an estimate. The only true way to determine mileage is the old-fashioned way. Fill the tank to full, drive a known amount of miles, fill the tank to full again and then divide the number of miles driven by the gallons just filled. Don't forget, c410006, there are no points for second place. |
~17
i guess around 25 if i try really hard to be boring |

I just did a 100 mile trip all highway and the computer said 17.6 for MPG. I was crusing at around 70 the whole time. Right under 3k RPM's. This is a bit concerning because it's not anywhere near the 26 mpg it's suppose to be getting on highway. Why is it so low??
