+1 for the ClearBra. Also, red is not a metallic flake paint so imperfections are going to show much easier.

our paint was specially formulated to save weight, and look like sh1t after a month

does anyone know if it is a colored base covered by a clear coat or if it is single stage paint?

I had a red car before. I didn't experience any problems. I would think that if you take really good care of the paint, you probably shouldn't have issues either.

Lol... its excessive exposure to the sun that messes up red over time. If you don't have some sort of carnuba based wax. The red color overabsorbs uv rays and red begins to turn orange. There's a much more in depth explanation that I read someone explain. Anyone can chime in if they are in the mood to give a science lesson? :)
Of all colors on cars. Red will fade first if you don't aggressively care for it.

its not really that hard to take care of paint to be honest. a nice car wash specific shampoo (i cant tell you how many times ive found friends using dish soap to wash their cars), and a periodic synthetic sealant, with a high quality carnuba (if you want to go overboard) should be MORE than enough to protect your paint, regardless of the color.

i seal all my cars at least twice a year, which keeps rain/water beeding up BEAUTIFULLY.

The NSX had a special red with a (red) tinted clearcoat which helped keep it bright.

How long before you've experienced red fade?

When I don't water wash. I have a biodegradable waterless wash called "whip wash" and it does wonders for my cars coat. Water beads up beautifully. I'm really loving it for in between water washes.
