2011 370Z vs 2011 EVO GSR in Road and Track
Sports Car Comparison - Sports Car Performance Comparison Test at RoadandTrack.com
Havent posted here in a while as traded in 2006 350Z for a 2011 Grand Sport Corvette but saw this article in this months Road and Track |
Sounds interesting, going over it now.
" Mitsubishi’s torque-vectoring Active Yaw Control" are we still dealing with cars here? Sounds like something out of back to future and flux capacitors. |
The first thing that comes to mind after reading the subtitle is where is the miata?
|
Fun little article. I liked how they put the XFR up against the Evora. :icon17:
|
“A true sports car ought to be able to lap for a long time without falling into this overheating-related mode.” I have to agree, Nissan really makes themselfs look bad with this. I'm also surprised the EVO was faster around the track, hmmm. But the Mitsu akes themselfs look bad with that interior. Why should the inside look like a base Lancer if I'm paying almost 40K ouch

"hear more of the Z’s distinctive “Chewbacca” exhaust note"
hey they called our car 'baka'. |

If I were to buy one, I would buy the 370Z. I'm a RWD fan. |

You boys stop with your fancy Japanese and get back to dissing R&T!
|
professordave- i didnt read the whole article, but actually their review of the Z's not too bad imo.... :D
|

I read the article last night and this morning while driving in I was listening for the Chewbacca sound. Maybe it won't make that sound with the Berk CBE.

interesting read

Chewbacca exhaust? Can you even hear the stock exhaust?
|
Chewbacca?!
My Z scares the V8's! lol... I honestly think they should've compared the 370Z with a CaymenS. I took one down last week and man did I feel awesome! |
In the end the Z only lost because a "sports car" shouldn't be over heating after a few laps. I don't care how many people insist that you don't need an oil cooler; a "sports car" at $40k should be perfectly capable of track use. It's a shame that it comes handicapped from the factory.

Mitsubishi Lancer GSR Evo X vs Nissan 370Z - FastestLaps.com
If we're talking performance, it's not even close. The Evo X isn't faster, period. They obviously can't drive. The Evo weighs more, has less power, and doesn't handle as well. You only buy the Evo X if you like the style and/or you have kids. You don't buy the Evo if you plan on beating a Z. |
i would never buy a evo over a Z. just dont like the looks of those things. i like STI better if anything.
|
the eye of the beholder
I just can't get into this 4 door thing
The look of the 370Z is pretty compelling for the money it is a steal |
Its crazy that the Evora did so well with such lil power. I had a dealer trying to push one on me a few weeks ago for 20k under sticker. When they make a TT kit for it I might consider
|
Not much compares to the handling capability of Lotus cars in general. I am waiting to see if they beef up the HP and might consider it then (as another to add to the collection 'cause I cannot get rid of the Z's).

MOst cars don't have a functional oil temp gauge...

Less than a second on track? Thats the difference between crappy Bridgestones Potenza and rocking Yoko Advan ADO8
|
Cant just make a judgement between the cars by just 1 article.

I looked at both the Z and the Cayman, and I know the quality of the materials in the Porsche as supposedly better (Real suede, better cows died, maybe the clear coat was more expensive, I don't know, but it looked and felt the same). I just know that I would be very sad if all I got was the badge on the front and the uber-high service bills. |

Sure the porsche engine is quieter and overall storage space is double, but broken in two. The Z is a more attractive package between the two price points. The porsche steering wheel and console is bland. The Z looks more sporty inside. What I do like about the cayman is that its lower to the ground and shorter in height. But I can modify my car to be lower and do 171 for a whole lot cheaper than a porsche, yet maintenence will be lower as well as insurance. If I buy a porsche it would be one of the turbo 911 variants. And I can't afford that. :( ill stick with my Z and when its paid off. I will buy a used GT-R. :) |
