Judging by the license plate, it appears the driver does it often. :shakes head:

I know what they are doing, it's stupid, but they are not looking at the lines. They are so conditioned to be a certain distance from another vehicle, that they go by feel rather then by the lines. Bad parking for sure.

That just makes my blood boil just looking at your picture:mad:

After looking at onzedge's pic I wonder if it would have helped to carry a couple of traffic cones in the Z to place on the white lines.

I also agree with CoolToy's analysis. Maybe in the same way people are conditioned - you can take advantage of latent traffic cone conditioning which generally indicates some form of warning and shake them back into a degree of situational awareness.

Based on the photos I have seen here I am probably just being overly optimistic - chaos will always return to chaos. ha ha.

At the very least the person is still far enough away that they could open their car door all the way and still not hit your Z. However, I too would have been pretty freakin annoyed.

Saw this great parking fiasco as I returned from lunch. Appears that it was the Honda that started all of this. Gotta love the squeeze in by the smart car.

Actually, it looks like the Lexus to the left of the Honda started the mess...
