meh, he's just making sure the other car doesn't ding him if they leave first. I'd do the same.

That being said, I wouldn't be parked next to other people to begin with

FreshFish 05-08-2012 09:23 PM

Doesn't make sense to me... The passenger on the left will for sure have no clearance to open ther door I park my car and don't worry about ...

ShinyBlueZ 05-08-2012 09:35 PM

Today was ridiculous.. I felt 'stupid' in the morning cuz I literally parked in the FARTHEST CORNER in a nearly completely empty 500 car parking lot lol but I figured 'hey it's a nice day so let's walk the 300 feet to the building :icon17:

It BLEW MY MIND because on the way back to my car hours later.. there was a SINGLE SUV driven by a Polish woman with her 6 year old kid parking beside me! Right on the line too! Keep in mind there's still only about 20 cars in the lot, ALL in the opposite corner right beside the building. WTF?!? She saw me coming and ran to the passenger side to open the door for her kid and help him come out since he would've just swung the door right into my car.

I really wanted to ask her "wtf are you thinking?!?" but I didn't wanna come off a douche. I shoulda taken a picture but.. these crazy scenarios keep happening to me so I'll just take one next time. It's inevitable. UNBELIEVABLE. :shakes head:

Spotted a new Z parked over the line today .____.

I wouldn't call this a bad parking job. Instead, the driver might have done this on purpose. Normally, we would park a little bit toward the left side of the spot to avoid being hit by the car on the right

Caught this lady a few mornings ago while at work. She only parked like this for about 20 minutes so its totally ok.

I disagree. A real Z driver backs into their parking spots to start and what about the inevitable car that will be parking on the driver's side? If this person was worried about being hit by other cars they wouldn't be parking in this spot that is so close to the front of the lot. This is a bad parking job, not horrendous like some others here, just bad or maybe poor. Better yet, lazy.

WOW....... That lady in the Suburban parking is crazy. As you stated 20-30 mins, but still most people wouldn't have known exactly how long it has been like that for.

I'll see your Suburban and raise you one Camry:

I can't help to ask. What's the point of backing into the spot as a "real Z driver"? How's that any different from just driving into the spot "head first?

A smart Z driver parks in the back and simply pulls through two spaces so he never has to worry about backing up. :gtfo2:

True. But you can't always do that. What if the parking spots are on the edge of a parking lot, which means it's a dead end on one side.
