Well... Not a good day.. Car is totaled
 

So I was driving to my parents house today minding my own business driving down the road and this girl decided to pull out right in front of me at an intersection... long story short hit her going 50mph. The Z took the impact like a champ and absorbed the hit surprisingly well.

Sorry to hear it, hopefully you're alright. That's the main thing, cars can be replaced/repaired.

Did she at least have insurance and all?

yeah I had two whiteness' and she got a ticket.. the only thing I could maybe get off is the HFC's and the wheels and tired but the tow truck drug my exhaust across the road and everything else is mangled Ill try to have pics up soon

Have any pictures? You say the Z held up pretty well so I am curious what kind of damage the car has from a 50 MPH impact.

I would say something about this to the company and make them cover the cost to replace it. That's :bs: that just because you were in a wreck to drag your exhaust like that. Unless it had come off of the hangers? :ugh2:

Man sorry to hear about the misfortune. Glad you're okay. I get real nervous when people pull out of parking lots, drive ways, etc. Most people don't keep their vehicles fully stopped before making the next move and simply dart out of nowhere. It happens in the neighborhood as well, too! They disregard the stop sign.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, but as with everyone else here, glad you were not injured.

Sux. I hope this doesn't scar you for life. I was hit going 10 mph in an intersection and I'm still paranoid sometimes when going through intersections.

sorry about your misfortune. damn it kinda seems like the Z's are like motorcycle's all the other drivers on the road for whatever reason doesn't notice
them. there not that damn hard to see................

Not to thread jack, but mine was hit too on Monday... :mad:

Facilities work truck was backing out and scraped my rear bumper. (sorry no pics)

Luckily it was just cosmetic damage and the guy was kind enough to let the office I work in know he hit a parked car out in the lot and was wondering who owned it. His insurance is covering everything - pretty much taking off the whole bumper and doing a respray + clear to ensure color matching. Can't be too mad - ish just happens that's beyond your control.

Wow, glad you are alright! That is a big impact, something no one can really comprehend until they feel the forces themselves. There have been a lot of accident threads today, jeez.

Find a bunch of steelies (spare tires) and take your wheels off, you shouldn't have to give them up unless insurance is willing to pay for new ones.

I'm really sad for his loss atm.. it's as if i lost my own Z. But there's always something better to come, of course.

i have been there. late December 2010 i leased this brand new bmw. and i had the car for 3 weeks and somebody hit me going about 48MPH. they hit my rear. they decided to fix it instead of declaring it totaled. it had 17k worth of damage! to this day its still in the shop being fixed. the car has been in the shop longer than i have driven it... i am sooo pissed. but glad i am ok ! and glad you are ok !
