America is awesome, we keep our $30k cars in the driveway so our junk can sit in the garage.

Speak for yourself, I keep my car under armed guard at all times :happydance:

No, this isn't a Rodney Dangerfield throwback...

I took one of my workmates to lunch today down to the local Mexican eatery. This place is great! They make their own nacho chips fresh each day!

Anyways, while the food is great..the parking lot isn't. It's mainly composed of dirt. :( I REALLY don't like having to park my freshly detailed car in dirt.

Anyways, we come out of the restaurant, I slide into the seat sideways and begin to beat my shoes together to get as much of the dirt off as possible... My workmate climbs in as I'm vigorously ridding my shoes of what dirt I can and he just plops his size 13 loafers right down in the floorboards..fully laden with dirt and debris! I'm like WTF man?!

I am ALWAYS conscious of other people's belongings...generally moreso than I am of my own....and to have this disrespect and utter lack of regard for something that I cherish so much really told me something about this fellow. He won't be riding in my car again anytime soon. :shakes head:

Some people just don't think. Maybe your friend drives a POS and doesn't care. He's only treating your stuff as well as he treats his. It doesn't mean he is a ****, just ignorant/not very observant. How did you handle that situation and what was his response?

I said WTF man, and called him a bastard for not being observant to the fact that i was clearly knocking the dirt off my shoes before climbing in... He looked down at his shoes and attempted to assess the situation, stating "Look..." (at the lack of dirt) "it's ok". :shakes head:

The fact of the matter is...there was a nice little pile of detritus...

The slob won't be riding in my car again.

My buddy asked me to pick him up from dropping off his own car at the detail shop. I picked him up and when he climbed in, he raked his boot across the door leaving a big dirt mark and didn't even bother to try to clean it up.

My Boss hopped in my Z yesterday. On his way out he kicked the door panel, SLAMMED the door shut, and SLAMMED my hatch shut. I rolled down the window and said "Hey, this isn't a Pontiac (what he drives)"

hahaha :D this post is funny cause VERY long time ago when i took my girl out in my spotless car, she too just walked in with her sandals with sand all over it  and that was the last of her.

it just shows the person's upbringing. kinda like people that fart audibly at the office and think nothing of it. :ugh2:

You should have told him BEFORE you unlocked the door, and let him in.

Something like, 'hey listen, not sure if you know this but I take a lot of pride in my car and I'd appreciate it if you tried to knock off the dirt on your shoes first before getting in. Thanks'.

Just my .02.

Yeah. Not everyone views cars the same way. I like to keep my crap clean, but I'm not gonna bust someone's balls for tracking in if I didn't warn them first.

Duly noted..and probably a really good suggestion, because at least then they've been forewarned! :)

spitfire9200 04-26-2011 10:14 AM

if it's that big of a deal buy all weather floor mats.. damn

mcphelps 04-26-2011 10:17 AM

That's why I got floor mats.

I can be pretty anal about my cars, but dirty shoes don't push my buttons. I'd rather have to clean floormats than have someone with size 13's kicking the rocker panels trying to clean his combat boots.
