aahhhhh no thank you to that!!! If I had to pay on the Italian economy over here it would be over $8 a gallon. Instead it is about $114 for 100 liters. And that is for regular gas so factor in the better gas I have to put in it is about $114 for 85 liters. YUCK!!

EazyD 04-19-2011 07:29 PM

Just filled up 93 octane @ $4.019/gallon. eewww

kenchan 04-19-2011 07:54 PM

Ya, before I bought this car I kinda figured what my gas budget would be.

I have been grossly mistaken lol.

Mr&Mrs 04-19-2011 08:19 PM

I dont even look anymore, with two cars needing premium. Im glad my wife drives a civic almost everyday. Hell even that stupid thing is about 45 dollars to fill now.

Cafiax 04-19-2011 08:19 PM

Guys guys :P that's not that bad. Prices up here in Canada is $1.50/L which if im correct with my math is... $5.69/gallon o.o (i try and drive to the states for the gas for my Z)

Mr&Mrs 04-19-2011 08:20 PM

The problem is gas does not need to be that high, it is our governments way to keep us broke.

JTTZR 04-19-2011 08:25 PM

Sitting on AUD 1.57 per liter at the moment. Bah - over $100 for a refill. And the Aussie $ is worth quite a bit, too.

Unless you are referring to taxes or regulations that result in ethanol additives, I don't follow...

An angry letter to Opec or to Exxon et al might be more in order.

Also, I'd really like it if my tax money would stop paying for oil company subsidies considering they collectively are turning record profits.

Mr&Mrs 04-19-2011 08:41 PM

Im a conspiracy nut so no need to go into my reasoning =) You think what you want I will do the same :tiphat:

Fair enough... :ugh2:

Red__Zed 04-19-2011 09:14 PM

Yeah, I just had an $81 fill-up myself.

hdskull 04-19-2011 09:14 PM

the amount I spend on gas every month is almost as much as my car payment.. haha

c41006 04-19-2011 09:17 PM

And I thought my $70 fill up was crazy

tonybui 04-19-2011 09:32 PM

I knew this car would take a lot of gas but I didn't expect gas prices to go up. FML

JrumMusic 04-19-2011 09:41 PM

I agree prices are high and it sucks to almost pay $80-100 for a fill up, but you should have known a 3.7 V6 SPORTS CAR will suck up gas, just try to not to GUN it everywhere you go. But...it does suck that were almost paying as much in gas as our car payment a month. *speaking to those who dont own their z*

Its not really that bad in terms of fuel efficiency it just stings a little when fill up time comes around

hansoac 04-20-2011 06:37 AM

I am not complaining, the high gas prices kind of weeds out the 18 year olds who got 30k from their grandma passing away who want to buy a Z. HOWEVER, I do feel it is bull that the gas companies can rape us and we can only sit here and yell uncle. I was watching something on television (I think it was CNN), that even if gas prices were a bit over a dollar, oil companies would still be turning in a large profit.

taxes and subsidies.

b1adesofcha0s 04-20-2011 09:10 AM

My fill-ups haven't reached that level yet, but I usually fill up when I have a 1/4 tank left. Currently hovering in the $60 range @ $3.89/gal.

BTW, I used to live in Flushing like 8 yrs ago :D

How many miles do you drive a week?

Mt Tam I am 04-20-2011 10:04 AM

I told two former Z guys I was getting 11.7 MPG and they looked shocked and said what's wrong with my car. Nothing is wrong. I enjoyed every mile. The worst time in my Z was during break in, I got 16+-17.4 MPG. That was awful and no fun whatever.

A seventeen year old told my friend who was complaining about sports car mileage, said "Then buy a Prius."

The government is making more profit per gallon than Exxon is (taxes are higher than profits). Exxon at least makes the gasoline. The government just taxes you on the money you spend (that they already taxed when you earned it). I for one don't mind Exxon making a profit on their product....it's how they stay in business. Their profit margin isn't anything unusual compared to other industry, either. As far as Opec, they are making big profits, but the price is set far more by Wall Street than them. They can jump prices by squeezing supply, but that's not the problem at the moment. Speculation of future oil availability is what's driving it through the roof.

Pretty sure people in Singapore pay WAY more to their government than you do, buddy. Especially when it comes to the expenses associated with cars. But way to go telling someone to "shut up" and following that up with a delightfully ignorant statement.

Well be glad YOU are not paying $146 USD. You paid $101. ;)

I remember when the Euro and USD were the same. Not the case anymore... :gtfo2:

Ghost 04-20-2011 11:13 AM

You can thank the speculators for that.

I got a story for you guys. I was at the pump filling up, a middle age man walked up to the pump next to where I was and started cursing out loud after looking at the prices, "these FCUKING speculators, FCUKKK, FCUUUKKKK"

Man was he angry...
