Other Sports Cars Parking Next to You

So I was at the driving range yesterday and parked pretty far away from other cars with no one next to me. When I'm about to leave, I see this. I've seen another member who had this happen to them, but I couldn't find the thread.

Haven't had this happen yet. I think they think they're better than you ;)
I like how you debadged your car and then re-badged with a vanity plate? :bowrofl:

spearfish25 04-15-2011 09:52 AM

LOL. That's called 'safety in numbers'.

Is that a problem?

wheee! 04-15-2011 10:04 AM

On a side note, I wonder how may people park "nose in"? I always back-in when I park. I find that if someone clips you, it is easier to replace a front fender than a quarter panel! Plus I like to pull straight out. Hate the visibility of the Z....

m4a1mustang 04-15-2011 10:05 AM

That's a sweet pic.

tsolin01 04-15-2011 10:05 AM

I think it's more like they know you won't ding their cars and they won't ding yours either.

6MT 04-15-2011 10:12 AM

Kewl!

I like it

kielbasa16 04-15-2011 10:31 AM

Haha very cool, good thinking to snap a picture

TongMan 04-15-2011 10:32 AM

I'd rather come back to my car and see nice cars that show that the owners actually care about their cars than a junk car parked crooked and over the lines. They trust that you won't ding their car and they won't ding yours. I've had 350z's parked next to my car on several occasions. I'm happy that they do that.

Cell 04-15-2011 10:34 AM

LOL... Unfortunately for me I had the ugliest piece of shiet van park next to my car one time. I don't know if he thought his van was a beauty queen or if he was just trying to screw with me. That rust bucket was ugly and he parked pretty close to me. Good thing he had enough respect to not ding my car.

The dork in the Camaro does not know how to park.

shadoquad 04-15-2011 10:39 AM

I love it when people park their fancy cars next to mine. I do the same thing. I like to park next to other Z's whenever possible, but also next to sporty cars.

I usually park nose in, but I feel you. I hate backing out in this car.

:iagree:

Once I parked next to a bunch of outlaw motor cyclists, because I knew they did not want to be door dinged, and would show the same respect. At least my left side was safe. No problems either way.

m4a1mustang 04-15-2011 11:01 AM

Yep -- it's always good to park next to a nice car if you have a nice car. "I'll watch scratch your back if you scratch mine."

But with cars. Doors really.

Don't park next to Miatas, though.

Not a problem, just funny to see. I'd rather have these guys park next to me than some lady in a minivan.

Exactly what it is. Door ding risk reduced!

Yep... exactly that. At work, I have a group of folks: SRT8 challenger, STi, RX8, SRT8 Charger, and an Evo park next to me... at least we're all in the same group. But yes, no door dings. Respect... always park next to people who respect you too.

??? What's wrong with how he parked? Usually, people at work drive alone. So people exit/enter via the driver-side door. Soooo... he was inching more toward the left side of the spot so as to avoid a possible ding by the car parked next to him (mustang).

I do the same thing... I park more towards the left side if I know someone can park to my right. Usually, I get an end spot anyways, and so I scoot over to the side AWAY from someone possibly parking next to me.

Pelican170 04-15-2011 01:31 PM

As mentioned, would much rather have that then some POS next to me who doesn't care about their car, or even worse, if a jealousy factor kicks in!

It's quite interesting and funny to see your pic... Z - Camaro - Mustang. Same order as what happened to me at work. :rofl2:

wilsonp 04-15-2011 05:32 PM

I'm still looking for the other sports cars?

I remember that picture too. It was really funny because the Z, Camaro and Mustang were all blue.

I a$$ park (aka enthusiast park) too, because I'm an enthusiast, and it's cool to do so. You're just making excuses for poor driving skills. LOL! :stirthepot:

Yeah, but those two pony cars really know how to haul.

EL Diablo 04-15-2011 07:25 PM

I'm usually parked next to one since my garage is loaded with high end cars.
