I think you know what needs to be done!

Her crash = you get to smash!

birdmanx1 04-14-2011 07:25 PM

Glad everyone was alright mtaxelson. With the weather getting better, more and more forum members's Zs are becoming the victims of other drivers' poor driving skills on the streets; other crashes involving the VDC OFF button (B1ades ;)) Be safe y'all!

Red__Zed 04-14-2011 09:09 PM

bummer man.

These kind of incidents raise the question of whether even perfect repair will make you whole. Now, at trade-in or sale, you have to admit that your car was in a wreck. As I see it, that will make it's value less than the competitor's car which was never damaged and repaired. Everything else being equal, his will command more money. Don't know if there are cases and precedents on that issue in your jurisdiction but it might be worth the cost of a consultation with an attorney before you sign any release or settlement agreement with her insurance company.

i agree now that my car will never be "whole" again...but i dont plan or selling it or trading it in EVER! haha but yes i agree now it will be a dark spot on my carfax records for the car, but i gotta roll with the punches and just get it fixed.

and thanks for all the advice from everyone.

Claim dimished value when dealing with her insurance

DIGItonium 04-14-2011 11:45 PM

Sorry to hear you went though the same unfortunate accident like mine. The shop replaced the passenger fender, headlight, bumper, hood, airbox, and internal support brackets. Insurance also covered for part of my modded headlights and clear bra. After a couple of weeks my car looks brand new with no frame damage!

Hang in there and hope all goes well. I'm very paranoid when I see cars inching forward as I am passing them... it's like they'll dart out without noticing or drive too close to my side.

Damn bro this really sucks :shakes head: Luckly it was a minor damage, thank god no damages to the engine.....and yourself ;) Hopefully repair goes smooth and nicely. Get your baby fixed and post her up again. GL with everything!!

Btw....I had to laugh at "I rammed her pretty good" haha! :inoutroflpuke:

I need a new bumper, hood, headlight, side panel, and washer fluid reservoir. the attached picture doesnt do the damage justice, but just wanted to vent and share with everyone. i also attached a photo of her ride...imo she got more damage than mine.

Except that your car is nice and hers is a POS.

That sucks, man. I have had people do dumb crap myself. Such as running into my car, parked at a gas pump while fueling, that I spent over a year having built and was taking on its first roadtrip.

At least she didn't try to weasel out of it. Now just make sure her insurance company pays like they should.

Hambone1 04-15-2011 08:15 AM

When it comes to diminished value, there are a few companies online that you can contract out (like $50-100) to inspect your car and file a report with the insurance company. I did this with my last Audi and wound up saving me around $4k when it came time to sell

ducky 04-15-2011 08:28 AM

I'll say take the car to a reputable local shop for repair instead of paying twice as much at stealership..with the extra cash u can call up the girl that hit ur Z and take her out to dinner (^.^)

Glad ur ok... but what is the deal????? This forum has more accident threads than any other forum I ever been on... this is really sad.

My advice to future and current owners. Buy the sport package. First mods, Steel braided brake lines, heat disspating rotors, and hard clinchin ultra high performance brake pads. No exhaust. No intake for first mods. This should be a Z buyers main goal on purchase.
