Thanks, worked for DL for many years and those were 2 of my fave planes in the fleet! My pops flew the L-1011 and retired on the MD-11 in Jan. 03 with DL.

awesome! I have flown the MD88, 737, 757, 767, 767-400 and 777 with Delta. Moved backwards to the 737 a year ago for seniority. still a first officer. I started May 97

Titan1080 04-07-2011 09:35 PM

Only times I don't drive the Z are when there's snow sticking to the roads, not that the Z can't do it as testified by others, but there's the real danger of getting hit by the idiot western Washington drivers who have no clue how to drive in the snow at all (especially in SUVs!) If the rain is REALLY coming down I'll drive the Titan (12-13 mpg on a good tank, bolt-on power mods and Uprev does NOT improve mpgs!), otherwise, the Z goes to bed wet!

No... I just have DD's. 10 year old Civic for me, and Odyssey for the wifey. Like I said, toys only get driven on uber nice days, maybe about 1x or 2x a week.

+1.

With snow tires, it handles beautifully. I blow by people in FWD and 4WD cars like they were parked. Mostly because they are pusses and don't have a frickin' clue how to drive on dry, but I'm not judgin' (OK, yeah I am).

TheGreatOne 04-07-2011 10:09 PM

I've only had it for 2 months now....been some gravel on the roads but couldn't wait, I doubt I'll drive it in snow

I might keep it plated in the winter and only take it on one of those -25 days when the streets are dry and snowless because its so cold.

Winter I'll share the wife's BMW 328 Xdrive, and i guess i'll be taking the metro (subway) a bit...doubt I'll buy a winter beater

LunaZ 04-08-2011 07:04 AM

I park and cover it for the winter. No snow or salt for me.
I don't mind driving in the rain. After all, I need a reason to use my rear fog light!
It just means I have more work on car wash day to detail the wheel wells and exhaust.

A.J@CarbonSignal 04-08-2011 08:12 AM

For me the worst weather I try to avoid is the sandy one. I have to clean up my air filters almost after every sand storm which we get quite alot in my area :shakes head:

Lemers 04-08-2011 08:15 AM

It's my daily driver. I drive in all weather that El Paso has to offer.

gbrettin 04-08-2011 11:03 AM

I will drive mine through what ever. I have a set of snow tires and summer tires. I have an unlimited package to the carwash which is located next to my work. It gets washed everyday, nearly.

I drove just fine in the ice storm... after I got the ice off.

kenchan 04-08-2011 02:59 PM

time to wash off the salt on my Z this weekend.

im just washing the wheelwells and wheels, under carriage (side moldings) though. :) the rest is clean.

Mark Gomez 04-08-2011 03:17 PM

alejo 04-08-2011 07:54 PM

i ride my sport bike daily except when it rains, and when it does the Z is out!

Baer383 04-08-2011 08:01 PM

My Z is my 2ND car it is driven in sunny weather only

I had it for 8 months only has 1600 miles:excited:

import111 04-08-2011 08:02 PM

If I had snow tires I would drive my Z in the snow. I drive in all other conditions though, doesn't matter to me.

sonic370 04-08-2011 08:27 PM

Its my DD so i drive her everyday. It doesn't snow in Texas..
It is garage kept though. I take great care of my cars so when someone buys
mine in a trade in which i do every 2 1/2 years they get a good car. I'm on pace
to be at about 45,000 miles by then. and it should still have a good trade in value................

shadow2k 04-09-2011 09:34 AM

I never drive it if there is any chance of snow or ice, or any chance of hail. I will sometimes drive it in light rain if it is already dirty. If it is already clean, sunny days only.

20,500mi, I've had it since July 09

brado 04-09-2011 10:18 AM

i made it home last night just before a tornado came through my town haha. hurried up and put it in the garage just before all the hail came down.

6MT 04-09-2011 01:08 PM

Never in snow!

Mergnthwirker 04-09-2011 10:12 PM

Hey I bought this car to drive it! Snow tires/wheels for winter, works great (and appreciate the LSD). Why put up with boring cars just b/c the weather sucks?

In the real deep stuff, I'll drive my AWD Audi S4 Avant tho.

fncrow 04-10-2011 12:39 AM

my Z is my DD and i try not to drive it in the rain if i can help it.... especially if i've washed it recently.

But a lot of that also has to do with living in Miami and that when it rains here it tends to flood also and i dont want to get stuck or come out and find my car with water up to its doors.

Chan Chee Hoe 04-10-2011 07:19 AM

When rains, never goes out,if rain halfway, wash car for 2 hours, makesure all the dirt comes out....anyway anybody noticed alot of "freak weather" around the world.?Maybe due to Global Warming,in S'pore alot of rain in the past 3 years.

houkouonchi 04-10-2011 09:58 AM

I drive it in any weather, of course I live in Southern California =P Already has 17k miles on her in 9 months.

turbodog 04-11-2011 08:18 AM

I drive it in all except perfect weather.....

.... have to be on the bike when the weather's that nice!

takjak2 04-11-2011 08:56 AM

DD and lives outside with no garage. Not afraid of the rain or snow, just ready to wash the MB.

pokeyl 04-11-2011 09:01 AM

I only drive the "Z" in bad weather. If it's nice I ride the bike.

I've driven mine in New England all winter with snow tires (Blizzaks front and rear), but I found that it tracked best with several hundred pounds in the back (I won't call it a trunk.) When I started offloading the weight, the back end started going out on wet roads. I'm having the oem summer tires put back on asap, but I wonder if adding weight to the rear end to approach 50/50 weight distribution might not help the handling. I know it will slow the car down, burt it already goes scary fast for the kind of driving I am doing. BTW, because the clearance is so low, I won't drive on more than 3-4 inches of snow, but I didn't have a single problem all winter

Rather than adding ballast to the back, you might look into moving some weight around. Things like relocating the battery can be pretty helpful.

A different suspension setup can also get a few more pounds sitting towards the rear.

toxik 04-14-2011 04:16 PM

I just avoid snow, and that's only because my front chin spoiler plows every block. But rain.... really? It's not that bad guys.
