If the car + repair fees comes around 30k, dont do it. Your car is always gonna bare the "Salvage Title", not to mention the diminished value claim to whoever youre gonna sell it to.

Econ 03-21-2011 03:43 PM

there is no way this guy is serious. anyone that pays 15k for a crashed z, bent frame missing headlight with 24k miles is a moron. im sorry.

you can get them W.O accidents and less miles for ~20k

Cmike2780 03-21-2011 03:44 PM

That's over $10k worth of visible damage. I'd pass unless you want to rebuild it and turn it into a track car.

why wouldn't he just buy a used "un-destroyed" one to turn into a track car, and not have to worry about structural issues.

True, but it's not beyond repair if you had the technical know how and mechanical skills. Most of the damage seems like its forward of the firewall. It doesn't look like the impact was that severe. Just a lot of missing pieces. I wouldn't trust it as a DD though. A lot of work to make right again, but it can be done.

I guess it all come down to how you define a track car. If your going to rebuild everything anyways, this wouldn't be out of the question and you could sell the stock parts.....although I guess an undamaged Z would be less of a headache.

I don't believe that you can get a 370Z W.O accidents and less miles for about 20k. Even so, I'd pass on this car.

go to cars.com and do a US wide search for 370z's with a price less than $25,000

i got a brand new touring for 26K.

i could get a base 6mt with ~20k miles for $20k easily

simple laws of supply demand

right now supply>demand

Jordo! 03-21-2011 04:32 PM

Pass.

Nice parts car, tho'.

Red__Zed 03-21-2011 04:35 PM

nope.

GZ3 03-21-2011 04:40 PM

i wouldnt do it

tjlazer 03-21-2011 04:54 PM

HELL NO, not worth it at all.

Jordo! 03-21-2011 04:57 PM

Unless you have a shop and can do all the work yourself, picking up a damaged car is pretty much never worth it.
