The impact is much more severe than most of the pictures lead on. The tell tale problem pics show the engine cross-member strut brace completely out of alignment. This means the frame is bent and the front left wheel at a minimum is completely out of alignment. Each headlight is almost a grand, the front fascia once painted will be another 500-600, there was airbag deployment which would cost another $6k, not including the new driver's seat due to side impact airbag deployment.

Buying that car for that price is a terrible idea. Most body shops wouldn't even touch it for a turn around sale at that price.

Now if you wanted to completely part it out...

so pay 15k to part it out and make back 8?

Miata doors still intact.

Seriously, sport + touring means parting out could get you your money back.

Doesn't having a bent frame, changes the way the car drives?

i got a brand new touring for 26K.

i could get a base 6mt with ~20k miles for $20k easily

simple laws of supply demand

right now supply>demand

Just did a search - not for $20k and not easily. One car less than $23k and it has 65,224 miles. What a deal.

$25K will get you in the ballpark. You would need to carefully check out a cars history and have a knowledgeable shop that you trust go over the car. Don't jump into anything just because the price or the car's looks draw you in. If the price sounds too good .......

That guy is just flipping that car to make a couple of bucks if he can. I will bet he already ran it to the frame shop and body shop and found out he was upside down
When it was all said and done. Your first clue, car dealers don't sell wrecked cars.
you need to go car shopping for a new car.

Hellz no, don't do it! I know someone who bought their's for around $19k w/ 48k miles on it. You can find a good deal if your patient and good at looking for them. I don't think this is worth it at all. With used Z's, you just gotta wait for the right one to show up at the right price.

Just being realistic on advice ... $20K easily for a car in very good condition isn't going to happen. Let it go.
