+1. I dont trust anyone around my car. People are just too careless...

I keep the car running and stay in it while the wife runs in and gets what we need... no parking!!!!
(If I have to park somewhere public, I take the MKX... lol)

Plan A: Park far away. One spot. Hopefully near a curb.
Plan B: Park next to another performance car. Mutual respect.
Plan 3: Sorry. I got nothin.

shoopajae10 03-21-2011 09:55 PM

wtf? someone actually had hard copies? wow they must encounter so many fked up parking for them to physically go and type this up, print it and carry it around with them.

I park where ever i can. If there are car's parked next to me, i get out and put charged C4's under their cars. When i come back and find a door ding i just press the happy red button that says BOOM!..:happydance:

I park as far as i can within reason as to not give people a reason to mess with her but I still find this when I come out only after 5 min and what you dont see is that there are 4 empty spots closer to the store than the one that parked next to me. It looks like my car even scooted over when they pulled along side. the picture does not show it well but it looks like the only thing holding on the bumper is the home depot sticker.

Out where the buffalo roam, but not too isolated as to draw the attention of vandals and thieves. Usually in an end spot. BUT, down here in Florida, you must be careful of parking next to landscaping because the sprinklers may come on. I learned THAT lesson the hard way.

If I MUST park next to another car and I have a choice, I always park on the passenger side of another car. There's a 100% chance that the other car's driver's door is gonna open when the driver returns and a somewhat lesser chance of the passenger door opening.

In the shade...

I dont know if it is a law of physics or something but when people see a nice car setting all alone in a parking lot they believe they must park next to it for some reason. and the ones that do this is usually a older car that is falling apart and even left unlocked with the windows down. Maybe in the hopes if someone is looking to steal a nice car if theirs is next to it and it is a easier target maybe just maybe someone will take it so they can get another car. who knows. but i am starting my own album of all the times that i see someone parking to me like this when the parking lot is empty or the creapers that think they are not being seen by the owner.

Kind of related

I noticed now I pay a lot more for parking related things

I work and live practically downtown. I used to park near this metro (subway station) and then take the metro a few stops to work. Now with the "Z", where I used to park before is too sketchy lol.

So now I either leave the car home or I park closer to work in a lot, there is one a few blocks away at $8 if I get in before 9am, the one right next to work is $19 no matter what time, all underground which is nice.

Just funny how this car changes the way you do things so much lol

PapoZalsa 04-21-2011 03:09 PM

Doesn't matter if you drive a Miata, Volvo, GT500, Vette, 370Z or a Ferrari; you are the one who paid for it and for a fck head to come to ding your car is unacceptable.

People should respect other peoples property, period! So I don't see nothing wrong with the OP trying to take care of his car.

But, that is why if I know I'm going to Walmart or similar places I take my DD or my old lady's SUV so I don't have to go thru all that nightmare. Don't want to deal with the Fck up drivers of the Republic of VA.

+1 on all the responses that taking up two spots is pretty much a d-bag move that will get your car f***ed with. It's a move that draws attention. Mission accomplished, judging by the note.

There was this Mazda3 wagon that took 4 spaces in the shopping complex where my gym was. Basically, X marks the spot parking right in the middle of four spaces. I didn't have a parking ticket, but I did feel compelled to write him a note that basically said "4 spaces?!?! Are you freaking serious?"
Just wanted to let him know that yes, people noticed his car.

I just got back from London. In Kensington, many people don't have garages and you see Ferraris, Bentleys, Maseratis, Astons, you name it... parallel parked on the street.
Space is at a premium on these narrow streets and many of the cars had rashed up wheels from trying to get close enough to the curb so as not to get side-swiped by passing traffic.

With that in mind, consider yourselves lucky that you have parking spots to pull into at all!

MyZ4U2C 04-23-2011 10:47 PM

Don't have a Z yet unfortunately, Even though my CL is old, I keep her looking nice and still park far away. Like others have said, I enjoy the walk...not as good a walk coming back as I always wish I was walking back to a Z lol

Fire 04-23-2011 11:07 PM

I try to park away from other cars and walk. I saw yesterday that my DD Red Titan has a blue spot on the door. People are a$$es so I park away from them.

Saw this as I was walking out to my car after working a long frustrating (18 hour) day. Wasn't as bad as other times I've come out to my car parked in an end spot but still... Can't keep all the idiots away I guess.

Out with the buffalos or in a special "more space" space.

murser 04-24-2011 08:37 PM

I park as far as i can.. i parked close to others cars and learned my lesson. I got a scrape on my rear fender from some careless bastard. My z has a big booty that i want to protect.

I do believe it's time to start a thread of crappy parking jobs, and the absconders that (like me) chose to take up multiple parking spots!:icon17:

(Disclaimer: I no longer do this)
