Insurance is gonna vary based on your specific info. It takes 15 minutes to get a quote, maybe try giving them a call.

Nismo89 03-18-2011 08:00 PM

i am going to. BUT i was asking anyone on here who had this insurance company, and how much did they throw their way.

sonic370 03-18-2011 08:13 PM

AllState 601.00 for a 6 month policy clean driving record.

Nismo89 03-18-2011 08:18 PM

right now i pay once a year around 1000, i was thinking the worst, im 21... and want a sports car, so im thinking thousands of dollars.. here

-I have a Clean Driving Record
-Never drink
-never ever speed
-Credit score is very high..

NCSUPACK09 03-18-2011 08:33 PM

I have USAA, but talked to Traveler's just for kicks because they have a deal through my credit union. They gave me a pretty good deal (~1100/year), but the customer service with USAA is awesome and it wasn't very much better than what I pay now. Unfortunately, there are so many factors that go into the quote that this probably wont help to much, but your description is pretty similar to me other than I am married (which helps lower the quote).

brado 03-18-2011 08:42 PM

im 23 with a clean record and i only pay 91/month with nationwide.

Nismo89 03-18-2011 08:45 PM

i just got off the phone with all-state and they gave me a estimate of 1,118.42 every 6 months.

WITH clean driving record
excellent credit...

Call around some other places. That's on the high end, but not out of line, depending on your age. Being 20ish miles from DC doesn't help either.

How old are you?

Also, your story makes it sound like you don't have a pristine record.

brado 03-18-2011 09:21 PM

what is the average. i think i have really cheap insurance? cheaest i have found anyway

esfourteen 03-18-2011 09:43 PM

it's a sports car, you're under 25 and you haven't had your own policy for more than 2-3 years = $$$. only thing that I loved about turning 25 was the massive drop in insurance.

Nismo89 03-18-2011 09:44 PM

im 21

Not just anyone.
A 21 year old male who lives in MD near DC and has all the same statistics as you.
Here's an idea. Call Travelers and get a quote from them.

Where do I come up with this stuff? I amaze myself.

My insurance through State Farm is $3200 a year.
That covers the Z, Benz, Ranger and Miata. I'm 41, married and live in Harrisburg, PA.
Hope that helps!

alb84z31t 03-19-2011 06:38 AM

I only pay $438. per six months through Geico. However I am 37, have a clean record, own my own home, and five vehicles on the policy including a motorcycle.

Yeah, USAA is competitive, but probably won't have the absolute best quote. The thing is with a lot of the other insurance providers is that you may get a lower quote, but when you actually get in an accident that's when you will pay (literally and figuratively)!

zrider 03-19-2011 08:28 AM

true story: after i read this thread I got quotes from different insurance companies. And I just saved $1400 a yr. after switching. I had USAA, man did they rape me on insurance costs !!

Nationwide: Full coverage for $62.00/mo. but I'm an old man with a clean record and all my other coverages are also through Nationwide.

Wrenise 03-19-2011 11:31 AM

USAA German policy 2k year.

Strangler 03-19-2011 11:48 AM

Depending where you live also plays a factor on insurance prices as well.

Nismo89 03-19-2011 03:32 PM

was looking on the progressive website, entered information exc.... (name your price option) (im paying 1300 now with with my accent) they gave me.. 644.00 if paid in full or monthly payments of $119.19/month... (the email they sent me).. looking to get my own...with a 64.82 permium

just not buying now since i dont have my Nissan Z yet

sucasa 03-19-2011 06:09 PM

geico full coverage $90.00/month
in NOVA/DC Area.

Nismo89 03-19-2011 06:27 PM

again, it does depend of area, driving history, age.. which factor into the pricing. but 2k for 6 months is outrageous. i have been w/ Geico for over 15 yrs, never any problems w/ rates.

370zlove3 03-19-2011 07:01 PM

My friend who is under 25 asked me a similar question the other day but I couldn't answer his question.

His insurance is with State Farm along with his parents and siblings. Don't the insurance people usually ask who would be the main driver of the said car?
So say if he bought a 370Z and with his insurance, claim that his father would be the main driver, would his insurance rate be raised?

srbrubak 03-20-2011 11:51 AM

I am very old and retired. Pay State Farm $320 every 6 months for full coverage. No deductable on comprehensive and $250 deductable on collision. Also have a 2005 Altima and 2001 Dodge Caravan insured with them.

Seems like American Family insurance is not popular here...

I have American Family and I pay about 640/6 months. I am also 25 years old and turning 26 in the summer. They wanted to charge me over 700 but I haggled them down considering my record is clean with no claims on my insurance for the 7-8 years I have been with them. I also have a very high credit score. I am also insured for second vehicle (Toyota Highlander).
