Generally, age 25 is the biggest insurance rate break that you get. It mostly depends on how long you have had a license though. It's not necessarily based on your age alone.

I don't know how it works in other states, but I never take a ticket without going to court. Plead no contest, pay court cost, no points, and its all forgotten. Hope that helps you in the future if you get another ticket.

As far as a comparison to rates, my best friends sister had like 3 accidents only one place locally would even insure her. I do not remember who, but it was around 600 dollars a month.

The best thing you can do is find a trustworthy insurance broker. At your age rates will be ridiculous. But insurance brokers can find you small companies with good reputations on claims. There are plenty of good unadvertised companies that don't crap all over you on claims while giving you a low rates based on more personal factors than national averages and market share. You may have to answer a lot of dumb questions before u get approved but it will be worth it in the end. Its just you usually only know of them by word of mouth or trustworthy insurance brokers.
