I had a similar experience two summers ago. A guy in his 60s driving an '04 Monte Carlo SS, complete with the wife in the passenger seat, followed me to my driveway. I assumed he was "unhappy" that I had (legally) passed him earlier on the main street but he just wanted to ask about the colour of my car (majestic blue).
The odd thing is, I was driving my nine year old '01 Maxima AE! Though to be fair, it was freshly washed  . The car still looks pretty good, but Nissan's thin paint is no match for 9 Canadian winters - and yes the paint was really bad back then too.It was very, very odd. I still have no idea what kind of person would follow someone to their house to ask about their car...other than a serial killer or some other sort of freak.
