Default What say you

Okay, so here's what Im looking at. Got around 4k to play around with on my new Z (base+sprt). Im splitting driving between my Z71 and my Z (stays indoors on rainy days). I dont want to make it into something that I cant drive when I want. We have really good roads in my area also.

So here is what Im looking at so far :

Kenwood DNX6960
Cmos 330 backup cam
Stillen G3

and Im stuck, I looking at exhaust just trying to decide what I want, Im leaning toward the stillen exhaust from the sound clips Ive listened to so far.

Trying to stay with performance mixed daily driving theme, any suggestions on some more upgrades? Hopefully Ill get a better idea at the SE meet this weekend when I get to see some of these mods in person.

Take a listen to the sounds clips, and see if you can get a ride with someone who has the exhaust you're considering. It comes down mostly to personal preference, so all we can offer is our opinions.

Did you have a particular sound you were looking for?

I like my Stillen a lot. Previous owner put it on, but it was a bonus for me because it saved me some time Some great brumble noise when the RPMs drop, and then when you get in the higher RPM range it's deafening and gets your blood pumping !!!!

Well I know we are dealing with a V6 not a V8, but I like a deeper sound at higher RPM. Some of them I have listened to seem to have a lot of whine to them. I dont think I have heard any sound clips with the test pipes on. With the test pipes are there any issues with the O2 sensors?

Sometimes. You can put steel wool in front of the o2 sensors to prevent it.

There are a pretty good number of threads that have pretty solid information on exhaust and TP choices.

Yeah exhaust is all gonna come down to opinions. Some of those sound clips dont do justice to the exhausts. Truth be told I loved this car out the box, but I really just want it louder.

Ive gone through a good bit of the stuff we have here, just trying to get the best bang for the buck performance wise. Been following Spohns build journal so I cant wait to see it this weekend.

You'll defiantly have many options to listen to this weekend. Test pipes will open it up. But then there's the rasp issue must can't deal with. I love it. You should here the straight headers on my dads race car. I'm still deaf. And that's just on a 4 banger.

4K To Spend. I would do exhaust, test pipes, Gen3 intake, Uprev, springs, spacers, and still have some for alignment and steak dinner. Plus turn around and sell your stock parts. Unless you'll really need them. You can get some bucks for the cats.
