from what i been reading some like the nose some hate it. i personally like the nismo i think they did a good job i just have to drive it see how it feels.. the nose well they made i to long if i get it im going to be paranoid taking curbs, parking to far in hitting the nose. ugh wish they made last second adjustments and get better nose...or leave the normal one in.

tvfreakazoid 04-13-2009 04:09 AM

Exactly! When you look at the M versions of the bimmers they do a good job of making the cars look nice, sexy and appealing. Where as with the nismo it looks like a 16yr old design the it. The back looks cool. The wing part is a little big. The side view is good, but the nose is the really deal breaker. They did a little here and there but they should of tried to loose a little bit of weight as well. But that's my personal feelings.

:iagree: id jus swap out the nismo nose for the base front and keep the wing. The Nismo front lost its aggressiveness, but besides that everything else is cool with me.

Kind of, but what model of the 7th gens are you referring to? The 2000-2002's definitely had the fangs.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, if you want something that looks respectable, then you shouldn't be getting a Nismo Z in the first place. The Nismo Z appearance isn't suppose to be nor should it look anything like the M series of a BMW. First of all, none of the M series are dedicated for track, meaning none of their spoilers and wings/spoilers are nearly as effective as the Nismo one. If you want something that drives nice out in the street, then go get the Top of the line Nissan 370Z Touring/sports. Then you can call it respectable or whatever you want. The Nismo Z was said to be built dedicated for hardcore Enthusiast that want something that's all performance. That being said, those body kit aren't just to look all flashy but are actually functional. You swear if you drove a Buggatti Veyron out there with a huge wing in the rear, you swear someone's gonna make fun of it or don't think it's nice. If anyone who knows a little bit about performance wouldn't question why on earth would someone do something like that to a car. I'm sorry to say, but that lip of the M3 is seriously useless and hardly provide any downforce, sure the car looks classy, but you might as well not have it.

tvfreakazoid 04-17-2009 05:19 AM

I get what your saying but the body kit for the nose is Fugly as hell. They could of made a better looking, more aggressive nose that is functional. I think that's what the other guy is really trying to say about the M design for bimmers.

I was wondering, someone here said that the 350 had 2yrs of nismo brand. What kind of changes they make between the first gen and the 2nd gen 350z nismo?

A: TVfreakazoid--What you said, is exactly what I meant.

B: Scruffy--um, maybe I'm a little confused, but what exactly is that fugly nose of the 370 nismo accomplishing??? And how much better are the coefficient of drag on the Nismo? Oh, right it's 0.01 better than the sports package model (0.29 vs. 0.30). Right, and the Nismo is heavier. So what exactly did Nissan accomplish here?

Now, I'll be the first to admit that this is my first Z and I'm new to the Z culture, and maybe I'm missing the point and don't know enough about the Z history. Maybe the Nismo was always supposed to look like it belongs in the speedracer movie (I say that in all seriousness), but if the above is not the case (and really in any event), I think the 370Z looks pretty freaking terrible. [EDIT: I MEAN THE NISMO MODEL]
For the record, i actually like the look of the 350Z, at least that one makes sense somehow.

2009 Nissan NISMO 370Z
The functional and fully integrated aerodynamic body pieces include an extended front nose design with a canard design at each corner for improved downforce and a fully integrated chin spoiler. The NISMO 370Z has an overall length of 174.3 inches. Special side sills and a unique rear bumper help control airflow under the vehicle, while the functional rear spoiler increases downforce.

The extra weight is from upgrades to stiffen the chassis, more than made up for by the boost in HP.

Cool pic. I've always thought the side view was very porsche-esqe, even on the 350Zs.

But wow, check out the overhang on the GT3

First of all, I do not know what you're talking about the Nismo nose looks fugly, I think it looks fine the way it is - and a lot of people actually like it much better than regular Z. Personally, I like the Nismo front nose more. Although I must say that front nose may actually looks less aggressive looking than the regular Z or what they initially intend to do with the S-Tune version but it blends in very nicely.

If you hate the looks of it so much, clearly the Nismo Z isn't for you. Neither is the Nismo 350Z as it isn't much different looking. And for the record, the front nose spoiler isn't made for only improving the coefficient of drag purpose only, it applies down force to the car as well and redistributes the air flow better. - Of course no one would really know if it does or not, I would think it's arguable to say either.

I hope when you said "I think the 370Z looks pretty freaking terrible" you're only referring to the Nismo one and not the 370z itself. Cuz you shouldn't be on this forum bashing on 370z as a lot of people would probably disagree with you of how the 370z looks. I agree with you of how they could have left certain features of the 350z the same when they converted to the 370z. For example, that added hump in the rear....they could have left it like the 350Z. But overall, I find the car looking pretty sweet.

And YES, the NISMO 370z should belong in a speedracer movie!!! :icon18:

I'm a little surprised the front bumper is getting so much flack. I really like it and in person, I'm sure it will look even better.

Honestly I think if bumpers were switched and the Nismo bumper was the regular bumper and the other way around, people would be complaining about the regular bumper.

Couldn't agree with you more.

I just hope they don't go too crazy with the price on these Nismos. I'm expecting no more than $40K, somewhere I read it's gonna be somewhere around $37K - which is reasonable, but at the same time prolly too cheap and not realistic. I just don't like how they'd MSRP this car way over what it's really worth b/c they know it's limited production and a lot of people would want it

Yes, I meant the NISMO 370Z "looks pretty freaking terrible.

Looks are a subjective thing. Everyone is going to have their own opinion. This is mine.
