Dammit - the only thing I want is the seam welding. I don't like the nose or the wing - and I can buy the chassis bracing and exhaust - but seam welding at the factory - that's going to make me jealous if I just buy the Sport.

Urgh. What to do... (was planning on buying in May).

front spoiler too pointy!!!

I have to say, it's growing on me the more I look at it. Thoughts:
  • I'd be worried about trashing the nose on driveways, but I guess I could always replace it with the standard nose.
  • I do like the rear - the haunches look much more defined with the extra cuts and the vents.
  • It looks like the wheels are the right offset, something that was kind of bothering me about the standard car. They also look thinner, like they should be lighter (although they are wider).
  • It had better have an oil cooler. I don't think I can see one in the high res shots.
  • Speaking of which - where is the front license plate supposed to go? I hate the cursed things, but they will ticket in my hood. A plate looks like it would take up half of the radiator airflow...

everything looks good except for the spoiler!

Wow!

Most of all I like the rims - must have! The front bumper, sides and wing are cool - not sure about the rear.

But I need to have my leather and Nav so I am still looking at the GT.

Maybe I can buy the Aero parts and wheels for my 370.

WOW! I'm not all for body kits and what not but this is INFINITLY better than that lip-kit we all thought was going to be the nismo 370z. GG Nissan...the designers really took the lines of the car and meshed them well with the new bumpers.

i love it, gets rid of all the things that i don't like about the "regular" Z34 (and that's not much)

Not liking the spoiler too much. Screams ricer...

Nice job nissan! specially on the g nose, wheels and the interior. The rear bumper looks ok but the wing and sides gotta go. I give it an 8/10.

Notice that the silver paint color on the nose doesn't quite match the body?

I hope the production vehicles will have better paint matching.

Ahh - I note that Inside Line is now saying that the car is *not* seam-welded. Bummer. The new car is probably stiff enough without that.

thats just how the paint sits on differnet materials urethane vs metal on my magnetic black nismo 350z in the right light the bumper and hood were way off in color

I think we have a new front runner in the body-kit race. Buh Bye Zele. Say what you will about the wing...it may not work on a stock 370 but on this body it works perfectly. I'm not big on body kits but if this one becomes available for retrofit I'll seriously consider it.

Personally, I enjoy the GT2 style wing. Since the 370Z has more of a curved back end like a Porsche, I think it works well.

Anatoray 04-08-2009 11:43 AM

Better than the past shots we got, but the front still makes me think of the 2000 Celica... At least it's only the front this time. The 350 nismo really made me think of that pile of fugly.

As for the spoiler, I agree that on a standard 370, the sport looks better, but this spoiler was definitely made for the Nismo. Try imagining the sport spoiler on it... that'd just be out of place, just like the nismo spoiler on a standard Z.
