I took a sustained run around 150 MPH in a twin turbo several years ago on the Autobahn. We went from Munich to Garmish in about 25 minutes as I recall. I was on the passenger side and every time we came up on a slower car, I was feeling for my own brake pedal on the passendger side. Not so much fun when you ain't driving.

Sport wheels or sports package?

Vegitto-kun 03-12-2011 03:32 PM

mine is sport+touring.

I think people without the sport package will notice the speed more mostly because of no spoiler pushing the backend down.

Sounds awesome. I'm itching to get my foot down in mine. That's the problem with these cars - they get to 85-90 so damn quick the fun is over before it starts. :)

I got a Ferrari F430 up to 170-175mph on a track (Mugello, Italy) once though. That was incredible.

Vegitto-kun 03-12-2011 04:16 PM

the weird part is that it FELT like the car could go faster but it wasn't.

Super Tanooki 03-12-2011 04:52 PM

ECU restricted :( Need to get that $hit unlocked.

NOPE, being there, done that and got the the T-Shirt!

Just remember that it doesn't matter how fast you are going there will always be a faster car behind you and better stay in the right lane after passing other cars! ;)

Nice!....Best I could do was max out my Mercedes A160 rental when I was over there on business (107ish mph :icon17:)
I'd love to take my Z on there.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how smooth and stable everything felt when I had the right conditions to take it to 156. stayed up there a few seconds and then decided to take it down to 80 and it was so disappointing how that 80mph felt like 30. Amazing ride though with the Touring/Sport :driving:

I don't go that speed all the time, don't want to open the death-envelope if you know what i mean. Slower traffic will some times go into the fast lane and you have to be very careful. They say if you are going over 140 kmh (around 85 mph????) and get in an accident its your fault.

No so much 'your fault' but more, 'your bill'. You cover the cost of everything, any and all official services that come out. i.e. Polizei, ambulance, fire department, helo, tow truck, re-construction services, etc. etc.

Not a bill you want showing up in your mail. :ugh2:

spearfish25 03-13-2011 04:38 AM

If I can afford a Veyron SS, that bill will be insignificant to me. And I'm pretty sure the fine print in the German law says "passing and Veyron SS cruising". Pretty sure.
