Please acknowledge that I do not promote such driving behavior and are no party to the person(s) doing such acts. On out is the driver's own intention and no comply of my own.

on to a more important question. How do our cars feel at 155mph?

It gets there quick, and it is pretty smooth.

I have went 156 AHA take that.
but it is scary how stable the car is at those speeds and mine is a non-nismo. no shaking steering wheel no odd vibrations. feels like you are going 60 even though the scenery is blurring past you. but then again me and my dad went 195mph in the GT-R, same thing. feels like cruising around. |
Mine is a 2011 touring with sport wheels. I don't think it would feel much different than the Nismo.. I don't go that speed all the time, don't want to open the death-envelope if you know what i mean. Slower traffic will some times go into the fast lane and you have to be very careful. They say if you are going over 140 kmh (around 85 mph????) and get in an accident its your fault.

I'm jealous

I took a sustained run around 150 MPH in a twin turbo several years ago on the Autobahn. We went from Munich to Garmish in about 25 minutes as I recall. I was on the passenger side and every time we came up on a slower car, I was feeling for my own brake pedal on the passendger side. Not so much fun when you ain't driving.
|
Sport wheels or sports package?
|
mine is sport+touring.
I think people without the sport package will notice the speed more mostly because of no spoiler pushing the backend down. |
Sounds awesome. I'm itching to get my foot down in mine. That's the problem with these cars - they get to 85-90 so damn quick the fun is over before it starts. :)
I got a Ferrari F430 up to 170-175mph on a track (Mugello, Italy) once though. That was incredible. |
the weird part is that it FELT like the car could go faster but it wasn't.
|
ECU restricted :( Need to get that $hit unlocked.

Just remember that it doesn't matter how fast you are going there will always be a faster car behind you and better stay in the right lane after passing other cars! ;) |
Nice!....Best I could do was max out my Mercedes A160 rental when I was over there on business (107ish mph :icon17:)
I'd love to take my Z on there. |
I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how smooth and stable everything felt when I had the right conditions to take it to 156. stayed up there a few seconds and then decided to take it down to 80 and it was so disappointing how that 80mph felt like 30. Amazing ride though with the Touring/Sport :driving:

The left lane is for passing only, German Law! |

I will be surpassing that very shortly.

Not a bill you want showing up in your mail. :ugh2: |
If I can afford a Veyron SS, that bill will be insignificant to me. And I'm pretty sure the fine print in the German law says "passing and Veyron SS cruising". Pretty sure.

Driving in Europe is an altogether different experience than the USA for a driving enthusiast. A car like the Z is very wasted in this country, since the roads are too straight, and everyone drives very slow. Comming back to the US after being in Europe for a while is rather depressing for a driving enthusiast. In Switzerland, were I was working, driving anywhere is an an experience, villiages, the mountains, the countryside, anywhere you go will be incredible roads full of corners and breathtaking beauty. We have some good roads in the US, like in western/northern Oregon - my favorite place to go, but I have to take a week off work to go drive them.

I do miss driving in Europe. Where are you at in Germany?
