this would have been a some what success if they made the car a strip down racer...something like what did Ford did with the BOSS 302 Mustang, or like what Hyundai did with the Genesis that they made the track version
then this idea would work...super stripped down, as light weight as possible, maybe throw in some carbon parts |
I'm liking the wheel color...yeah that's about it.

so same engine output, mild suspension revisions, same everything except a little decal and snow mode??
yeah ill pay an extra 10k for it |

What a few of you guys are missing, it seems, is that the car doesn't get the same name everywhere it's sold, the GT IS the Sport package, with some tweeks here and there, just like we have different models in Canada then you, we don't even have a base model here. They have a slightly different touring pack to start, then the sport package, and Nav,thats it, well and auto.
So in the UK the GT is a sticker that you see, but it's also got the sport package with it, or some form of it. :vuvuzela2::happyholidays: I hadn't seen these used yet, so... |

I thought there is a member here from England who bought one last year and had to explain how the Sport model was called "GT" there. They just call it that for that market. I don't think it's a special edition. (This whole thread started as mis-info.) |

"The new Nissan GT Edition will be produced in limited numbers. Prices will be announced at a later date, but, for comparison’s sake, the standard 370Z is priced at $30,610 for the base version so we’re looking at a few grand more for the special GT Edition." It says it's a new edition and will be produced in limited numbers. There was also talk of a retuned suspension, which is not a part of the Sports package (at least in the US it's not). |
If you look at Nissan UK you'll see that they have a GT pack option instead of a Sports pack option. The equipment listed is slightly different than the US sport pack, but it is not as the article the OP linked to described.
The article may be wrong -- it's from a site I've never heard of, but that doesn't mean much -- and may actually be referring to the GT pack, but that is unclear since the GT pack doesn't have stripes. So maybe there is a new model, but if so shouldn't it be available to view on a Nissan website somewhere given that it is supposed to be a 2011 model ... Any of you Europe folk check your country's Nissan site for reference to this model? |

Yea it's real! It's sorry, but it's real!
|
Hmm, the interior shown is left hand drive, so it's not just in the UK even though they spelled colors with a 'u'. It seems to me to be very similar to the 40th edition-- special paint schemes and darker Rays. The Nissan press release doesn't mention any mechanical differences over the Sport Package so perhaps it is just an appearance package

I think I'll be getting those strips done to my car!! ;)

Only thing I like about it are the Anthracite wheels. Thinking of getting my nismo wheels powder coated to Glossed Anthracite on my PG Nismo; quoted for $360 at local shop. Do you guys think it would look good on my nismo?

I say colour match the wheels or go significantly darker. |
