There is no question that you need snow tires, but adding some weight to the rear axle doesn't hurt either (in addition to snows).

Instead of buying New wheels and tires for $1500+, I would buy a FWD honda for $1500!!! Park the Z and keep it out of the SALT and the snow!! Mine stays parked after the first snow and doesnt usually come out till march!

lol I had to get my car out of the garage so we could clean it up.

about 10 inches of snow, I got stick instantly, didn't budge just completely stuck. I needed 3 people pushing me just to get it moving.

Thats what i do with my truck, it doesnt have VDC (thank god).

My best advice is get winter tires, turn VDC off and go to some winter auto-x. I just did it a few weeks ago with my truck, it was my first week driving my truck ever in the winter and i learned alot!. Learned how it stops, turns, accelerates all on ice and snow. That one day gave me alot of confidence in the truck.

summer tires + snow = disaster, i would not buy a Z at a cold area, im just gonna have to stare at it and not be able to drive it

Our first snow storm I drove through a couple inches in my neighborhood and some slush in the turn arounds on the highway, no problem with Continental ExtremeContact DWS on.

This storm, had about 3 inches in my neighborhood but some traffic had packed it down a little, it was slipping a little bit on the packed icy tracks, no real problem getting out to the highway.

just got to drive in some real snow today and the car did great, the traction control didn't even bother me. It seems to be a pretty decent system
