I guess I drive way to much, I have 12k after 10 months and I alternate between it and my 03 Max and some days I drive both in the same day.

IT will be my DD most of the time during the Spring and Summer. But when is raining or going to Lowes or Walmart that is what the DD is for. ;)

Do you user your z as a daily driver?

HI,

I was going to get a non sports car 4 dr sedan, till I saw a 370z upclose. After that I havent even wanted to drive any of the other sedans I was considering test driving.

So my question to you Z owners is... do you use it as a daily driver or a weekend car? I drive into the city (DC) everyday so just curious if anyone else does this and what their experience doing so has been?

Also driving in city means MPG will be around 15 -18?

Thanks,

it's my daily.. but I go into DC too, so I just metro everyday. I don't drive except on the weekends.... I got a hookup on parking so I drive like... 1 mile to park at the station, but that's it. It's a very secluded spot and I don't park near anyone.

I can't believe you would even consider driving your Z into DC. That is car suicide, as well as expensive..

just my .02

Like some members on here, the Z is my only car, and it have been great for me as a daily driver. The ride is very comfortable even on bad streets, I just drove 2 round trips from Sac to SF yesterday, including getting lost in downtown SF, it was not tiring at all (if anything I had a lot of fun lol).

I am getting 16.4 mpg average on local. When I made my road trip down to LA from Sacramento, I was averaging close to 26mpg.

I would say the main draw back of buying one is,

a. you can't carry a lot of luggage, but it does fit a lot more than you think it could.

b. only room for 2, this could be a plus or minus

That is true, when I visited my gf at DC, I noticed some areas the road is very bad. I guess it depends where you are located at. Another thing is some people think there is a lot of road noise.

That, and the drivers there don't give a crap. I've watched people back into/hit people while parking and not leave notes. Seen people swipe cars, seen people lean/sit on cars. Seen people ding the crap out of cars... plus parking is impossible/expensive.

Like I said not trying to be a ****, just my experience!

:tiphat:

The Z is my only car. I use it every day in the DC and Southern MD area. Its awesome. No complaints.

However, work from home when it snows! :)

370z TT 06-08-2010 12:17 PM

I use it everyday, but i also live in New Jersey which is all highways. The z is fine in traffic but it isn't too economical or forgiving in traffic. Driving in NYC gets really interesting in this car and it tends to attract a lot of attention. It's really comfortable for everyday driving, but you will feel every bump in the road and you will need to put the music louder to drown out the road noise. The stock bose is adequate for the car, but it could use some more power and an after-market head unit will fix this. The car is really good stock but everything is modifiable and the ability to track the car, or do some high speed runs on the highway is enjoyable to say the least. The paint is sensitive, but a clear bra will resolve that issue. It will take more pampering and maintainence than other cars but the end result is a lot more rewarding than any sedan you could possibly buy.....unless you have kids

Not a daily driver for me. I commute 110kms everyday and sometimes I take the Z to work. Mostly I drive a Civic (47mpg).

Jeffblue 06-08-2010 12:29 PM

Its my daily driver. It works fine for me. on a daily basis and it is my only car. I wouldn't NOT get it just because it would have to be your daily driver. i think its a perfectly fine DD

If you are considering any sedan with a v6, dont expect to do any better on gas in local driving.
