If my head math is right, that's like, 72 miles a day

Daily driver, and it sees rain.

Darkaeon 04-05-2009 10:08 PM

Two weeks tomorrow and Im at 873 miles!!! But in my defense I did put the majority of those on it in the first week or so to break it in and get ready to take her to the track!

Daily Driver... I have 50 mile commute to work every day of the week, so that's 100 miles a day. I've had it exactly one week, and I have 600 miles on it so far.

When i get mine i'm going to beat it up. To hell with breaking it in. Cars are meant to beat on and of course make sure to do your regular maintenance.

I'm working away from home so actually it's about 175 miles on Monday and Friday, local travel near work site mid-week, and little or no driving on the weekends (ride the motorcycle instead).

one word -

both

The Z is my only car now, and probably will be for some time yet. Thankfully, Louisville never gets too bad for too long. My biggest problem are the people around here. Pedestrians don't seem to understand the concept of red lights and looking before crossing the street.

weekend toy....

Mine went from daily driver (150 miles per) to weekend car about a week after I got it and put on 800 miles.

Daily driver all the way, at least for a couple of years. To be honest, I have had enough of the days where my Z sits at home while I drive a bunch of no-fun cars - F-150, Maxima, 4-Runner, etc - the 60 miles round trip to work and back. I finally figured the best thing to do was keep a Z at home and drive a Z daily too. 60 miles a day is way too much driving to be in a car you don't enjoy!

It is very possible that one day the 370 will join my Z32TT as a garage queen, but only after I drive her a few years. The 370Z makes me look forward to my commute and thats invaluable!

See was just the opposite for me. Every day I would take it out dreading the commute because of the miles and dings it was sure to get.

That was my reasoning at first too, so I left my fun Z at home and drove other vehicles that I did not give a crap about. Its not a bad plan at all. Keeps the car pristine and makes driving it a recreational activity.

but the downside was, I was spending way more time driving those other cars than my Z. I tried a car, a truck and an SUV, but I had been driving a Z since 1988. My daily ride without a Z was zero fun.

I finally just figured its a car, it may get a ding or some miles but a ding can be fixed and a car can be maintained and do very well as it takes on some miles.

I love my ride home from work, got a couple of spots as I approach my house where I can open it up and I always get home in a great mood.

Of the 5 Zs I have had the 370 is definitely up there with the Z32TT as my favorites. I plan to drive it a few years and retire her to the garage and pick up something else, but I learned my lesson a while ago, whenever I get that new DD it will be a Z or a sportscar for sure.

I just wish I had the money to buy and keep some cars and have a couple of daily drivers too. but don't we all?

tvfreakazoid 04-08-2009 02:56 PM

I know how you feel and i'm the same way. But then what's the point of getting a car like this one? No matter what it's going to happen. hell a car accident may happen. Thats why when I get mine I will have to tell my self these things are going to happen and I can't do anything about it to prevent it.:nutswinger:
