2013 Nissan Z

Unbelievable, new Z coming out in 2013, hybrid sounds very mean producing 360 BHP and 450 lbs of torque, wish more details were provided. Very excited for this vehicle, I see the z turning more into a classy sports c:yum:ar

wow... amazed (not at car but reposts)

Red__Zed 02-22-2011 03:04 PM

This is new.

steveg78 02-22-2011 03:20 PM

I could get down with that... The hybrid that is... Diesel, not so much.

XwChriswX 02-22-2011 03:37 PM

My god it looks like a G37 with Lotus headlamps and Nismo bumper/wheels...

Do not want. :wtf2:

HKYStormFront 02-22-2011 03:43 PM

that's just a rendering, not what it will actually look like i'm sure. as i said before, i have been told by several people now that the "next Z" is already done. my question is, are they going to make any mid-cycle improvements to the 370z before it's done? (for example, horsepower bumps like the 350's got over the course of their production cycle, new interior, revised fascia's and lights?)

Falcor 02-22-2011 03:44 PM

hopefully that stays a concept.

370Z Purist 02-22-2011 03:53 PM

I don't see the new Z coming out until 2015, because I don't see what kind of fiscal sense it would make to market a car that barely sells in a market that wants less fueling up.

I'd buy diesel. Not in a Japanese car though.

jayl 02-22-2011 03:58 PM

Wow.

I want

Theres a greater chance of there being NO Z in 2013, than a totally redone one...

Just Sayin'

It's like the 90's all over again.

pulpz 02-22-2011 05:10 PM

And I'll pass on the hybrid. I'll take a turbo Z if its gas! This will be left for Euro markets.

A lame rendering...

Econ 02-22-2011 05:11 PM

I wouldn't mind Nissan halting the 370z for a couple years... I'll be able to pay of the 09 i just bought (while still owining the most up to date version), and be ready for trade in when Nissan Re-Releases the Z :)

, I gotta feeling its going to be 1997 all over again in 13/14 for the Z with the current sales figures.

Jordo! 02-22-2011 05:44 PM

I think this is a slight refresh on an old rumor. I haven't seen that rendering before.

I'm down with a hybrid if it looks like that and has the theorized hp/tq specs.

Zigen5 02-22-2011 07:29 PM

Yes please may I have another..

:iagree:

I don't care if it's a hybrid as long as the performance and looks are still there. I don't like the looks of the rendering in the article, it looks like a 370Z Nismo, G37, and Leaf had a baby together.

I've also read somewhere that the next gen GT-R R36 could be a 600 hp hybrid. It is the car I would like to get after my Z and I wouldn't mind the hybrid as long as it had better performance than the non-hybrid.

spearfish25 02-22-2011 09:48 PM

Randomly came across this today...although the site lists it as a '2010 Z'. Probably a super old guestimate rendition obviously based on the 350Z. Aside from the IS-F pipes, that's one f'ugly a$$.

I keep hearing how the numbers for the Z are bad and how they might not continue it, etc. I've also have seen threads where the numbers are good overall for the Z so if that is the case; then why would they consider canceling out a classic sports car?

Does everyone believe that the car will be discontinued and do you think this is just the Z or sports cars in general; thus maybe we might be seeing the Camaro and Mustang falling by the waist side?

Niche79 02-23-2011 01:24 AM

This is from Wiki....take it with a grain of salt, but if these numbers hold true, thats not good signs of a car that will stay around long:(

Calendar Year U.S. Sales
2009 13,117
2010 10,215

And for the previous Poster about the Camaro sales:
Year Sales
2009 61,648
2010 81,299

Then again the Z is meant for a smaller part of the market, vs some jock wanting pure Hp. I think Nissan does a good job in its particular area!

Including the sales of the 350Z, just to get an idea of the market over the last decade:

2002 13,253
2003 36,728
2004 30,690
2005 27,278
2006 24,635
2007 18,957
2008 10,337
2009 13,117
2010 10,215

I expect 2011 sales to be <10,000

I want a Z 02-23-2011 08:35 AM

I like that look, sort of looks like an Aston
Hope they stick with a gas engine

younter 02-23-2011 08:44 AM

looks cool...

cheshirecat 02-23-2011 09:00 AM

The designer of the 370z stated at Zcon last year that Nissan is already working on and designing the next generation Z.

The Z is definitely not dead, and yes, it will be a new vehicle. I'm betting on hybrid, myself, especially given Nissan's current leanings toward battery tech.

Shamu 02-23-2011 09:41 AM

Sounds heavy. Havent seen a lightweight hybrid yet. Maybe 2009 to 2012 370 will be last true sports car from Nissan?

Mt Tam I am 02-23-2011 09:45 AM

A car must preform significantly better than my current car. The 350 was not worth buying over my then DD 300 ZXtt, in order to justify the money. For 360 HP vs my 370 /c mods, I would pass. With a 76 mph slalom I would.

370Z_Fan 02-23-2011 12:42 PM

Nissan could just put regular side mirrors on this car and it could be the next generation Z car:

Nissan ESFLOW Electric Sports Car Remains Environmentally Sympathetic Without Giving Up the Joy of Driving

NISSAN ESFLOW Concept puts the spark into electric vehicles

It looks like a sports car, handles like a sports car and performs like one too. But ESFLOW is different than every other sports car yet built: It's electric. Using technology pioneered in the award-winning Nissan LEAF, the EV concept shows that driving can still be as much fun tomorrow as it is today.

At a Glance
•ESFLOW - a pure EV sports car concept
•Rear-wheel drive two-seater
•Two electric motors, each driving a rear wheel
•Laminated lithium-ion batteries mounted low for best weight distribution
•Dramatic styling with wraparound windscreen for unobstructed visibility
•0-100km/h in under 5 seconds

You know alot of people in the automobile industry, including corporate people will tell you anything. Deep down they know the truth but can't tell you for various reasons!

Crossfire + RX8 = :barf:

wh1te370z 02-23-2011 01:31 PM

Id take one w a turbodiesel that would be sick. You can get soooo much power out of diesels. not a fan of the rendering tho

It's not a rendering. :)

kno 02-23-2011 07:41 PM

the next z has to be Turbo or twin turbo since the ghey juke has a turbo. imo it would be stupid for nissan to make a crossover turbo and their sport car n/a. maybe not tt since the gtr already have them.

pulpz 02-24-2011 07:33 PM

Seems like every rumored concept Z I've seen sucks. But once Nissan finalizes the concept and it goes through production design...they nail it. So I doubt we'll be disappointed.

But really, I’ll be looking for continued incremental improvements in all aspects – of course more power, refinement in feedback and balanced handling characteristics, interior amenities and comfort, quality, reliability, and finally a design that remains very conducive to a mod-happy aftermarket. The 370Z is really a marked improvement in all aspects over the 350Z. Lets hope the same is true for the next Z.
