As far as maintenance, it depends on what you are used to. I don't think the Z is that bad, but the EVO isn't much worse.
I'd also take a look at the STI, or the WRX if maintenance is more of a concern. Not that you couldn't drive the Z year round, I just wouldn't want to, both from a safety and a car-care perspective. Subaru's warranty is pretty solid as well.
ah I see, Yeah i understand why people wouldnt drive it in the winter, especially since over at NYC the winters now the snow are getting much heavier and much more frequent.

I def would take a look into the STI, esp the new 4 door sedans
Stock for stock im guessing Subaru warranty is better, since i plan on modding down the road for either car
