I agree no wallet in back pocket while you drive.

Here is the stretch that will save your back the rest of your life. Think of an aluminum can that you bend one direction then the other until it snaps in half. Do not allow your back to snap in half.:icon17:
1) Stand straight, hands straight up, slowly bend at your hips, do not touch your toes on the first try, but that will be your goal eventually. Let your body weight stretch out your back a few seconds.

2) Slowly stand back up straight hands reaching for the heavens and then lean and stretch backwards towards a wall so you can catch yourself. If you want to use your hands to walk down and back up the wall. You should hear popping and cracking.

Keep repeating.
In future days you will become more limber, and the back pain wains.

Good luck.

heating pads ftw, too. For back pain, especially lumbar, I love me a good heating pad, couch, movie combo.

Tell the girl friend or wife to help you out. Then secretly do the real exercises, so you show improvement and the need for more female help. :rofl2:

dude. I don't have back problems, and no matter what I do, from day 1, this car has been the ultimate discomfort.

My 350z was super comfortable, I don't get it.

I dunno if it's just the touring seats, but mine is more comfortable than the 350. I dunno. The lumbar support is much better.

I have heard complaints about the 370 touring seats. I have a base model, and I haven't had many problems.

I have a memory foam lumbar support cushion that I got from Office Depot and use in my office, it should work great the car.

ill try out the different stretching exercises and look into the cushions if they don't remedy the issue after a week or two. i'm 6'2" and 185lb. i go to the gym 3-5 days a week so i'm not out of shape (other than still smoking =/ ). i've situated the seats so that my head has about 2-3 inches from the roof but i do notice that i'm naturally tense driving in the Z lol, i would imagine that is adding to the problem like kenchan said.
thanks for the help everyone

PapoZalsa 02-11-2011 09:47 PM

That must be an old back injury. Not another thing to blame the 370Z for. I'm 6"0" and have driven the 370Z straight for over 9 hrs and the 350Z for over 10 hrs and never had any back problem.

Back off the donuts, that might help...:bowrofl:
