i wonder what the nature of the cooling issue was? You know they were running a oil cooler

They may have underestimated the amount of oil cooling required in VQ's. With my oil cooler (which is one of the largest Setrab cores) I only can get about 10 laps of driving flatout at maximum RPM's on a hot day on a fast track. Cooler days or tracks with more mid-speed corners it is fine.

I think I read in their build info that they were using an oil to water cooler, hence allowing the radiator to do most of the work. Not sure if that was a supplement to an oil to air cooler or if that was the only cooling mechanism.

how many rows is yours? I hope it was the only cooler they were running, that way they can add a nice oil cooler to the mix. The oil to water system is nice for mild to medium, DD, track time, but for a race applications its just not enough plus given the oil temps issues with the 370Z....the 350Z had a similar oil to water system that was really effective

72 row, half width. If I added a supplemental oil/water cooler I think I would never have a problem again. It wasn't worth the hassle to me given the types of events I go to.

Very nice! Though the title is misleading..it should be "Base Z's with Nismo parts"

If you've read the thread, you would know it's far from a base with Nismo parts. Heck, it's miles away from a Nismo 370. If you read the title again, its a "Nismo Team" or "Nissan Motor Sports Team."

Default Update

Hey everyone. A.M. Performance put on an impressive showing at Barber 200, running fast during qualifying and during the race until engine troubles forced them to retire. We will be bringing you more information on the teams performance in the next update. In this update we want to make up for the one we missed before the race of the teams preparations. There is a very cool video of the team running the car on side streets with a police escort!!

Also, don't forget to check out the race on Speed tomorrow at 2 PM ET.

Police Escort Video

Ultra-Trick A.M. Performnace upper a-arm installed

Our very own taco stand! Actually, this is our pit stand, which keeps us up to date on timing and scoring and transports much of our essential pit equipment.

Our taco stand comes complete with hydraulic disc brakes with Stabuli dry-break connectors. Baller.

Meet Mr. Brunnhoelzl. This jack is expensive, but it's light, tough enough to get thrown around puring pitstops, and two pumps will get 3000 pounds up in the air. This thing is invaluable in a four-tire stop.

The office.

Pretty brake hats fresh from plating. These are the first of many A.M. Performance brake hats!

Brian programming our MoTec system

The car's last day before it comes off those stands!

That punch list is getting pretty short!

Complete right front corner.

Tires mounted and ready

Tapping our pitstop lug sockets so they can be bolted to the wheel guns.

The final touch!

It's outside and it runs!

Shake down testing with a little help from our friends...

Ready to go on the truck to Barber!.

And gooood lookin'.

If you don't already keep checking this thread for more updates, we will be brining you some cool stuff from Barber and we will address the engine issues shortly. Again, check out the race on Speed at 2 PM ET tomorrow.
