Ok here is something you might want to remember. You will pay taxes for these cars when you return to the states, depending on where you register the cars at. Trust me went through the same thing when I was over there. Got ride of the BMW for a Z after the warranty was up. What options did you get on the BMW? Not much cause my 06 330 was close to 40 and all it had was nav and sport package oh and leather. Anyway good luck!

Taxes will depend on the state I want to register it. There are no laws that require me to register it in a certain state.

Here are my specs:

Make: BMW
Model: 328i Coupe
Exterior Color: Mineral White Met
Interior Color: Black Leather
Trans: Steptronic
Conv Top:
Options Include:
205 Steptronic - 6 Speed Automatic
ZCV Convenience Package
ZMP M Sport Package
ZVP Value Package
2XA Paddle Shifters
4WA Dark Glacier Aluminium trim

All for 38,915 OTD.

They don't have individual places for the Armed Forces guys to purchase a BMW, Audi, etc. instead that from the dealer? Which is way cheaper.

I didn't buy my from the dealer, however pick it up at a dealer.

Do your homework because some states will break you in half when you register the car with the taxes! I register mine in Georgia back in the days and only piad $35.00, however VA wanted over $600.

:iagree: A 335i would it be a different story. ;)

I can live with that. I am sure we can register it in any state we want. Most states have good military clauses set in place.

I hope not. But regardless, I still got a good deal even if I have to pay taxes ;)

I actually got a phone call Saturday that my car moved up 5 weeks in production and will be ready to pick up mid February :happydance:

My wifes is scheduled to be ready the same time so we are going to make it a family affair ;)

It only takes about 3 weeks to make and deliver in Germany. Kinda made me chuckle at how long I waited for my Berk CBE :rofl2:

An entire car in three weeks, compared to an exhaust system taking almost a year to get :p

Why not a 370z? I test drove a 135i with sport package and wasn't overly impressed with sedan like handling of the BMW. German cars are truly overrated. I also hated the vague shifter and overly heavy steering feel. rear suspension in the 1 series is weak too.

My wife felt the same way. She liked the BMW but didn't like boring handling of the car. Give me a Porsche or Z car any day.

I did have a Z.........................:icon14:

You must not have gotten on that 135i if you say you didn't like it. Me and a friend (350Z owner) test drive one and were grinning from ear to ear as the exhaust screamed and the turbo spooled all the way up to 140mph on the autobahn :driving:

That was enough to push him over the edge and sell his 350Z for one :icon17:

350z is a truck compared to the new 370 Nismo. I know as I have a 350z too. I picked up a new 370 Nismo for $36k. It's far more fun and lots more car for the $ than the Baby Bimmer. I got the BMW up to around 100 mph and took some very fast turns during my 20 minute test drive, Full on acceleration was OK but the car comes up short on handling side, it's a nice girls car - cute and sassy, but comes up short on true performance. It just didn't handle as well as the 370z nismo. I'd take a 135i I over 350z but not a 370z Nismo. I drove 2007 Cayman S as well but the new Nismo impressed me the most as a well focused sports car. BMW would have been second choice.

That's why I got the wife a 1 series and picked me up a 3 series ;)

Car is at the local German BMW dealership. Just got to finish up some paperwork ;)
