What are your monthly payments?

I was wondering because dealers are always shady when they add extra fees and sometimes they don't remove them and there are a lot of numbers that they move around and you have to catch.

I'd like to get an idea of the payments depending on the price that you got the car for. Just post in this format, I guess:

I'm assuming most vehicles here are financed to own.

Monthly Payment:
Money Down:
Price Paid:
Location:

Any other info like dealer fees help, too.

Thanks.

ZzzZz 03-25-2009 03:26 PM

Monthly Payment: $488 (4.09% APR, 60mo.) Thank you Think Bank! https://www.thinkbank.com/rates/loan_rates.html

Money Down: $5000
Price Paid: $31000
Location: Fresno, CA

The car was $29200 + TTL. I was using approximate numbers for my down and price paid since I don't remember, but the monthly payment is accurate.

Wah? Wow? That actually sounds pretty nice...

EDIT: The reason that number surprised me, now after I put them down on a calculator at Edmunds, was that it came up at $528. How so?

No sales tax or registration fees... thats the only way he got that :driving:

GT-R man 03-25-2009 05:17 PM

Marcus just make sure you punch the numbers at home of what you think u qualify for.. pick out how much you want to put down, for how long and interst rate to the price you agreed to buy the car for... then there shouldnt be any catches when you go to the dealer..dont forget your tax rate if you think something is fishy just ask the sales person to explaing the numbers

Its just the best way for some people...as long as the rate is sub-5%, I wont knock it.

takimbe 03-27-2009 02:14 AM

yeah, I am just planning ahead and using it as a 'just in case' measure. The payments are low, but I didnt mention that I was also going to be paying 1000/month, plus 5k+ of my bonus every March.

If something unforseen does happen in terms of my employment, I wont be paying a ridiculous payment and a 72 month loan allows me to have lower payments and still afford to live and ride out anything that comes my way.

Again, I dont anticipate anything happening with my job, given the amount of work and length of my current contracts. And if that is the way it is, then I will pay off the car in a little over 24 months, maybe even less, and probably end up paying less interest than most of you out there.

I definitely would have gotten a shorter loan (48-60), or just straight waited on getting it, if the interest rate was above 5%, but like one of you said, its sub-5%, so it doesnt bother me. I did this before when I bought my truck back in High School and paid off the entire car (12500) in 6 months doing web work (thank god for the emergence of the internet back then).

tru_Asiatik 03-31-2009 06:16 PM

$513 for 60months
8k down
6.25% apr <--- :( i know it was high but oh well
ill probably refinance down the line later on to get a lower rate

arcticreaver 03-31-2009 06:26 PM

$7440 down
$480 / month @ 60 months / 5.49 APR
35k OTD

but i'm trying to pay off the car ASAP so i'm really paying like 600-700 bucks a month depending how much i can spare for it.

mrrrkva 04-07-2009 10:32 PM

$32000, Base with sports package, lighted sill plates, splash, floor and trunk mats, Cargo bag, and Paint and interior protectant.
$2000 down from trade in, financed in Tax and title.
Payment is $570 60 months. 4.75% at Dupont Credit union.

I bet that is the price out the door, which is not that bad considering he got some warranty extras it looks like. No clue what the tax rate in cali his, but I am sure it is not <6%.

Car Payments 370z Poll

I am slowly building a demographic of a typical 370z driver

kfull 11-14-2013 01:53 PM

356/mo for me at 0% financing. But I am saving up to pay it off sometime in the spring because I just don't like having debt above my head

kittens 11-14-2013 01:57 PM

425/mo for 48 months with 8500 down/trade in. Financed like 18k

Minsu 11-14-2013 02:00 PM

8k down 413.53 a month at 3.49% Financed 24kish.

Chuck33079 11-14-2013 02:02 PM

I'm shocked the majority of people so far own their car outright.

Haboob 11-14-2013 02:10 PM

Wasn't there a thread with this info before? A ton of people paid cash for their car and own it outright.

ElVee 11-14-2013 02:12 PM

I'll skew this a bit since mine is a new 2013. :)

So was mine. ;)

Though, I seem to fit in with the second most-ish?

I hate car payments too. I was offered 1.5% so I financed it. With such a low rate, I would only pay around $300 in interest if I stuck it out the whole term. I'll probably just pay it off next year anyhow.

1325 11-14-2013 02:20 PM

Opted for 72 months initially June 2010. Paid it off February 2013. :icon14:

Can I inquire as to what this demographic data will be used for?

Personal interest, market research etc.

How is the data being compiled and how large a sample group are you hoping to get?
